The process
A correction plan agreed with you, inpatient observation and a year of follow-up.
1After assessing your figure and discussing your wishes, the surgeon chooses the best volume, shape and correction method.
2A surgery date is booked in your name: pay the deposit by card at the clinic or by online bank transfer. The terms are recorded in the contract for medical services
3Before the operation you take a full set of tests: blood tests, an ECG and any other examinations the doctor prescribes.
4The surgeon performs mammoplasty according to your individual plan. The operation takes place under general anaesthesia with continuous patient monitoring.
5Once the operation is over, you stay in the clinic's comfortable ward under the medical team's supervision until discharge.
6After surgery you get a recovery programme. Check-ups at 7 days, 3 and 6 months help track your recovery. For a year after surgery, consultations with your surgeon are free.

Ahead of surgery, take a few simple steps: balance work and rest, get more sleep, steer clear of stress, anxiety and strong emotions, and cut back on physical activity.
Come off hormonal oral contraceptives no later than a month before the procedure
Stop using drugs with aspirin, steroids and hormonal medications prescribed for chronic conditions before surgery
Complete your tests a week before the surgery
Post-operative swelling disappears in 3 weeks
Scars take shape within 3 weeks
No physical exertion (lifting over 3 kg)
No raising arms above shoulder level — 3 weeks
Part of recovery after the correction is wearing compression garments for 1–1.5 months
No intense gym sessions for up to 40 days and no overly vigorous aerobics; light cardio is possible after one month. Watch what and how you eat.
Within 3 months, discomfort disappears
Baths, saunas and physiotherapy are not allowed for up to three months
In 3 months any inflammatory changes in the tissue disappear, and a “pocket” forms around the implant

FAQ
Yes. Boob job is the everyday name for breast augmentation. At City Medical Centre it is done with round or anatomical implants that the surgeon chooses with you at the consultation.
Breast enlargement adds volume with implants. A breast lift (mastopexy) raises sagging breasts and removes excess skin. Which one suits you is decided at the free consultation.
There are several types of mammoplasty: augmentation (bigger volume with implants), reduction (removal of excess tissue and skin), mastopexy (a lift for sagging), reconstruction (after mastectomy) and correction of asymmetry. The best approach is chosen individually, considering your wishes and the surgeon's recommendation.
Message us — our coordinator will get back to you shortly and book your consultation. The plastic surgeon consultation is free.
Following all recommendations makes complications rare. Still, they may involve hematoma or seroma, infection of the wound, decreased or increased nipple sensitivity, capsular contracture, aesthetic asymmetry, wound separation and tissue necrosis.
The results of mammoplasty are long-lasting: roughly 10–15 years after augmentation (until the implants are replaced) and 5–10 years after a lift or reduction. Weight, pregnancy, skin aging and gravity all influence how long they last. Wearing supportive underwear and managing your weight help maintain the result.
Breastfeeding after mammoplasty is determined by the type of surgery. Augmentation through an under-breast or armpit incision, with the implant under the muscle, usually preserves lactation, since the glandular tissue is left undamaged. The risk is higher after a lift or reduction because ducts may be cut. Talk to your surgeon about it in advance.
Several things guide implant choice: material (silicone looks most natural, saline is used less often), shape (round or anatomical teardrop), surface (smooth or textured), size and profile. The surgeon selects the best match for your anatomy and wishes.
The surgery is carried out under general anaesthesia, and the patient feels nothing. Moderate discomfort is possible during the first 1–3 days and is relieved by pain medication. Pain falls significantly by day 5–7, and by weeks 2–3 discomfort is over. If you have severe pain, tell your doctor at once.
You can return to work (without physical exertion) after 7–14 days. Light walks after 1–2 weeks. Fitness and swimming after 4–6 weeks, strength training after 3 months. Pool and sea after 4–6 weeks. Wear compression garments for 4–6 weeks. Exact timing depends on your recovery.
No scientific data suggest that mammoplasty increases breast cancer risk, and implants are not carcinogenic. After the operation, continue regular screening: self-examination, mammography and ultrasound. Always tell the doctor who examines you about your implants.
Mammoplasty can follow a C-section, but first your body must fully recover. Allow a minimum of 6–12 months from giving birth and from the end of breastfeeding. Before surgery, a consultation and check-up with the surgeon are required.
Mammoplasty always leaves scars, though with a skilled surgeon they are minimal. The incisions are hidden under the breast, around the areola or in the armpit. Scars are reddish in the early months but fade within 6–12 months and become almost invisible.
In the first weeks after surgery, slight asymmetry is normal: swelling and uneven healing are behind it. If shape or size still differ after 3–6 months, see your surgeon for a check-up to find the reason.
Breast and nipple sensitivity may change for a time after mammoplasty, going down or up. The cause lies in irritation of nerve endings. In the majority of cases sensitivity is restored within 3–12 months. If nothing has improved after a year, consult your surgeon.
Hormonal drugs (contraceptives, hormone replacement therapy) have no direct effect on implants, but they can cause swelling or changes in breast tissue volume that temporarily alter appearance. Always tell your surgeon about such medications before surgery.

Breast augmentation is a mammoplasty in which implants add volume and correct the shape of the breasts. For patients from Alicante, the surgeon helps choose the implant material, shape, surface, size and profile to match individual anatomy. Silicone implants give the most natural look, and both round and anatomical teardrop shapes are available. The procedure suits women who want fuller breasts or a better contour.
Follow-up does not end at discharge. Throughout the year after mammoplasty, patients from Alicante can get free post-op consultations with the plastic surgeon, alongside dressings and planned check-ups. Slight asymmetry in the first weeks is normal and caused by swelling; if a difference persists after 3–6 months, the surgeon examines you to find the reason. Nipple sensitivity usually returns within 3–12 months.
If you are comparing breast augmentation prices in Alicante, check what each offer includes. Here the all-inclusive rate from $4,700 (≈ €4,200) already covers anaesthesia, the clinic stay, meals, dressings and a year of check-ups with the plastic surgeon. Apply before the end of the year and your consultation is at the clinic's expense. Fill in the form or message the coordinator.

I went to Dmitry Sergeyevich for breast augmentation with implants. At the consultation everything was explained in detail, and together we chose the best size. The operation under combined anaesthesia took 2 hours, and I was discharged home the next day. The swelling went down in about a month, and my breasts look very natural. The year of follow-up care is a real lifesaver: you can always ask a question and get an answer. Thank you to the clinic!

Alicante is a Mediterranean city of 358,608 residents (2024 figure) on mostly flat ground at an altitude of 3 m. Its year has one fixed point that matters when you plan an operation: the Hogueras de San Juan, held from 19 to 24 June, followed a few days later by five nights of firework contests on Postiguet beach. If you want to be moving freely and feeling like yourself during those days, it is more sensible to count backwards from them than to pick a date and hope it fits.
Here are the recovery milestones, all of which depend on individual healing. A return to work without physical exertion is possible after 7–14 days. For 3 weeks there is no lifting of more than 3 kg and no raising of the arms above shoulder level. Post-operative swelling fades after about 3 weeks, and a compression garment is worn for 1–1.5 months. Take a worked example: an operation on 1 June 2027 means a desk-based return between 8 and 15 June, and the arm and lifting restrictions end on 22 June. That puts the end of the restrictions in the middle of the festival days, with the garment still on until early or mid-July. Easy walking is possible from 1–2 weeks, so evenings out are realistic, but reaching up, carrying and crowds are better kept for later.
If that picture does not suit you, move the date. An operation in early May leaves the festival week well after the 3-week mark. An operation after the fireworks nights moves the whole recovery into the summer months, which is a different question and is covered in the next section. The coordinator on WhatsApp or Telegram, available 24/7, can lay the milestones over any date you propose.
The same arithmetic works for any fixed commitment. If your calendar is set by classes or exams at the University of Alicante, whose campus is in Sant Vicent del Raspeig next to the city and which was founded in 1979, put those dates in your first message. The doctor can then place the 7–14 days and the 3 weeks around them. The stay at the clinic is one day under general anaesthesia, so the days that need to be free are those of recovery rather than of admission. The plan and dates are confirmed with you before anything is booked.
The garment is the part of recovery that the weather affects most directly. The service plan calls for compression for 1–1.5 months, and the wider guidance mentions 4–6 weeks. In both cases the garment stays on for most of the day and night through a stretch of weeks, so the season decides how comfortable that is.
Alicante's climate is warm semi-arid. January is the coldest month, with an average maximum of 17.2 °C and a minimum of 6.7 °C. August and July are the hottest, with August averaging 31.1 °C by day and 21.8 °C at night, and July 30.7 °C and 21.3 °C. Average humidity is 65 %, and the highest temperature on record, 42.0 °C, was measured on 13 August 2022. An operation on 11 January 2027 would put the garment period between mid-January and roughly the end of February, in days that are mild by comparison. An operation on 2 August 2027 would keep the garment on until early or mid-September, through the warmest nights of the year.
This does not make summer unsuitable. It means you should plan for it: breathable clothes over the garment, rest in the shade, and no strenuous activity in the heat, because strenuous activity is limited in the first weeks anyway. Ask the doctor at the consultation how to handle the garment on very hot days. Do not take it off on your own initiative, because the timing of compression is part of the recovery plan.
Sunshine also changes how the weeks feel. The city records 3,014 hours of sun a year, with 345 hours in July and 175 in December. A recovery in December or January is spent in softer, shorter days, while one in July is spent in long bright ones. Neither is better in itself. Choose the one whose rhythm you can follow, since quiet rest is the main task of the first two weeks.
The municipality has several beaches: San Juan, the urban Postiguet, La Almadraba, Albufereta, Agua Amarga and El Saladar. The island of Tabarca, about 8 nautical miles to the south, is part of the municipality and has been protected since 1986. For many residents, the question after augmentation is simply when the sea becomes possible again.
The recovery guidance says that pool and sea are possible from 4–6 weeks, and that baths, saunas and physiotherapy are not allowed for up to three months. Fitness and swimming also start from 4–6 weeks, while strength training waits until 3 months. So 'the beach' covers different things at different times. A walk along the shore comes early, since easy walks are possible from 1–2 weeks. Swimming comes later, at 4–6 weeks. Sauna and bath come last.
Now put the sea temperature against the calendar. The annual mean is 19.6 °C, with a minimum of 14 °C in February and March and a maximum of 26 °C in August. If you operate on 11 January 2027, the 4–6 week window falls between 8 and 22 February, when the water is at its coldest. If you operate on 1 June 2027, the window runs from 29 June to 13 July, and the water temperature lies between those two extremes. Whether cold water is comfortable is your own judgement, but it is worth knowing before you plan the first swim.
Treat the 4–6 weeks as the earliest point and not as a promise. The doctor will check your recovery at the follow-up, which is at 7 days and then at 3 and 6 months. If the tissues are healing more slowly, the sea can wait. The pool and the sea are also not a reason to rush the compression garment. Ask during the consultation how to combine the two.
For anyone who trains, the first weeks are the main difficulty. The guidance is specific. For 3 weeks there is no lifting of more than 3 kg and no raising of the arms above shoulder level. Intense gym training is skipped for up to 40 days, and overly active aerobics are avoided. Light cardio may be possible after a month, and strength training returns from 3 months. Diet and meals deserve attention in this period as well.
In dates, an operation on 11 January 2027 leads to this sequence. Arms stay below shoulder level until about 1 February, intense training is off until about 20 February, light cardio becomes possible around 11 February, and strength work returns around 11 April. These are only reference points: the real moment is set by how you are healing and by what the doctor says at each check-up.
Work at a desk is a smaller issue than sport, because a return to work with no physical exertion is possible after 7–14 days. Jobs that involve lifting, reaching overhead or long standing need more care. The doctor will ask what your day looks like, so describe it in detail in your first message: the weight of what you carry, how often you reach up, and whether you drive for long stretches.
There is also a preparation phase. Between 1 and 2 months ahead the advice is to keep a steady balance of work and rest, sleep more, avoid stress and reduce physical activity. A few weeks of lighter training before the operation is a sensible step, so that the break does not come as a shock. Hormonal oral contraceptives are stopped at least one month before. Aspirin-containing drugs, steroids and hormonal medications for chronic conditions are stopped 1–2 weeks ahead, and tests are done about a week before the operation.
This part concerns everyone who lives in Spain. The common portfolio of the national health system, the SNS, does not fund techniques whose aim is 'mere aesthetic or cosmetic improvement'. Procedures with an aesthetic purpose and no connection to an accident, an illness or a congenital malformation are excluded from specialist care. Breast prostheses are included as reparative implants, but not when they are used in aesthetic surgery. In practice, an augmentation chosen for its appearance is a private decision, and no place in a public queue is involved.
The public waiting numbers explain why many people look at other routes for conditions that do qualify. On 31 December 2025, plastic surgery was the specialty with the longest average wait in the SNS, at 269 days. In the Comunitat Valenciana, 51,600 patients were on a structural surgical waiting list, 9.91 per 1,000 inhabitants, with an average wait of 88 days. These figures describe the public system as a whole and say nothing about the private route, but they show how the two differ in timing.
The online consultation fits the facts of living in Alicante. It is free, and it begins with photos sent through WhatsApp or Telegram. The doctor assesses them, names the final price, and the price is fixed in the contract. You confirm the plan and the dates before anything is booked. Along the way you also learn whether augmentation, a lift or another option suits you. If your concern can be addressed without an operation, the doctor will say so.
After the operation, recovery is supported for a full year. Dressings and check-ups are included, and the check-ups at 7 days, 3 months and 6 months track your progress. Consultations with the doctor are free for a year. This matters when the sea, the gym and the festival calendar all depend on how you are healing. A question that comes up in month four can be asked in the same chat where the first photo was sent.
The garment is worn for 1–1.5 months, so the season counts. January is the coldest month, with a maximum of 17.2 °C and a minimum of 6.7 °C. August averages 31.1 °C by day and 21.8 °C at night, and humidity averages 65 %. Cooler months are gentler on the garment, but a summer date can work with breathable clothes and rest in the shade. Ask the doctor how to manage it in heat, and do not remove it on your own.
Yes, if you count backwards. The festival runs from 19 to 24 June, and the lifting and arm restrictions last 3 weeks. An operation in early May leaves the festival well after that mark. An operation on 1 June 2027 would end the restrictions around 22 June, in the middle of the festival days. Send your preferred dates to the coordinator and the doctor will place the milestones over them.
Pool and sea are possible from 4–6 weeks, and easy walks along the shore from 1–2 weeks. Baths and saunas are not allowed for up to three months. The sea is coldest in February and March, at 14 °C, and warmest in August, at 26 °C. The annual mean is 19.6 °C. The 4–6 weeks is the earliest point, and the doctor confirms it according to how you are healing.
No. The SNS common portfolio excludes procedures whose purpose is aesthetic improvement, unless they relate to an accident, an illness or a congenital malformation. Breast prostheses are covered as reparative implants, but not when they are used in aesthetic surgery. For an aesthetic augmentation the route is private, and the doctor sets the price at the free online consultation and fixes it in the contract.
Easy walks are possible from 1–2 weeks. In Alicante, September (51.1 mm) and October (33.1 mm) are the rainiest months, and July is the driest at 3.2 mm. The annual total is 284.5 mm over 34.7 days. So in autumn you may have to choose dry hours for walking, but nothing in the recovery plan depends on rain. Light, regular movement is the goal rather than distance.
Between 1 and 2 months ahead, reduce physical activity, sleep more and avoid stress. After the operation, intense gym training waits up to 40 days, light cardio may be possible after a month, and strength training returns from 3 months. Lifting over 3 kg and raising the arms above shoulder level are off for 3 weeks. Describe your sport in the first message so that the doctor can plan your return.
Photos taken as the coordinator asks on WhatsApp or Telegram, a list of the medicines you take, and your preferred dates. Hormonal oral contraceptives are stopped at least a month before the operation, and aspirin-containing drugs, steroids and hormonal medications for chronic conditions 1–2 weeks before. Tests are done about a week ahead. The stay at the clinic is one day, under general anaesthesia.
