- Anaesthesia — TIVA (intravenous anaesthesia) or classic general anaesthesia, depending on complexity
- Access — the surgeon chooses the open (external incision on the columella) or closed technique (all incisions inside the nose)
- Bone and cartilage correction — with an ultrasonic piezo device for minimal trauma to tissue and vessels
- Shaping the new nose — excess tissue is removed or a graft is added; the bridge, tip, nostrils or septum are reshaped
- Sutures — atraumatic, self-absorbing or cosmetic suture material is used
- Fixation — packing and an external splint are placed to stabilise the shape

Preparing for nose surgery
For a successful surgery, start preparing 21 days before rhinoplasty. At the first visit our plastic surgeon will give you a list of tests.
Complete blood count (including ESR, differential, platelets)
Urinalysis
Infection tests: HIV, HBsAg, anti-HCV, Treponema pallidum antibodies
Blood type and Rh factor

3–5 days before surgery you need to
- Stop smoking and drinking alcohol
- Cut foods that cause swelling: salty, fatty, fried and spicy food; stop medications that affect blood clotting (agree this with your doctor)
- Limit physical activity
- Avoid cosmetic treatments that damage the skin: scrubs, peels, etc.
