How it goes
A correction plan agreed with you, inpatient observation and a year of follow-up.
1After assessing your figure and discussing your wishes, the surgeon chooses the best volume, shape and correction method.
2We hold a surgery date for you. You can pay the deposit by card at the clinic or online by bank transfer; all terms are set out in the contract for medical services
3Before surgery you complete a full set of tests: blood tests, an ECG and other examinations prescribed by the doctor.
4Your surgeon carries out the mammoplasty following your personal plan, under general anaesthesia and with constant monitoring of your condition.
5After the operation you remain in the clinic's comfortable inpatient ward, cared for by the medical team until you are discharged.
6After surgery you receive a recovery programme. Check-ups at 7 days, 3 and 6 months track your progress, and consultations with your surgeon are free for a year.

Prepare for surgery with a few simple steps: a healthy balance of work and rest, more sleep, no stress, anxiety or strong emotions, and reduced physical activity.
At least one month before the procedure, oral hormonal contraceptives should be stopped
Prior to surgery, cease taking aspirin-containing medicines, steroids and hormonal drugs for chronic illness
Complete your tests a week before the surgery
Post-operative swelling disappears in 3 weeks
Scars develop within 3 weeks
No heavy exertion (lifting more than 3 kg)
Do not raise arms above shoulder level for 3 weeks
Recovering after correction includes 1–1.5 months of wearing compression wear
Avoid intense gym workouts for up to 40 days and overly active aerobics; after a month light cardio is possible. Watch your diet and meals.
After 3 months, discomfort disappears
No baths or saunas for up to three months, and no physiotherapy
In 3 months any inflammatory changes in the tissue disappear, and a “pocket” forms around the implant

FAQ
Yes. Boob job is the everyday name for breast augmentation. At City Medical Centre it is done with round or anatomical implants that the surgeon chooses with you at the consultation.
Breast enlargement adds volume with implants. A breast lift (mastopexy) raises sagging breasts and removes excess skin. Which one suits you is decided at the free consultation.
Mammoplasty covers several procedures: augmentation (increasing volume with implants), reduction (removing excess tissue and skin), mastopexy (lift for sagging), reconstruction (after mastectomy) and asymmetry correction. The best method is chosen individually based on your wishes and the surgeon's advice.

Following all recommendations makes complications rare. Still, they may involve hematoma or seroma, infection of the wound, decreased or increased nipple sensitivity, capsular contracture, aesthetic asymmetry, wound separation and tissue necrosis.
Mammoplasty results are durable: about 10–15 years following augmentation (until implant replacement) and 5–10 years following a lift or reduction. Weight, pregnancy, aging skin and gravity influence how long the effect lasts. Maintain it by wearing supportive underwear and watching your weight.
The ability to breastfeed after mammoplasty depends on the type of operation. With augmentation through an under-breast or armpit incision and a submuscular implant, lactation usually remains, because the glandular tissue is not harmed. After a lift or reduction the risk is greater, as ducts may be cut. Raise this with your surgeon ahead of time.
Choosing an implant takes into account the material (silicone looks the most natural, saline is used less often), shape (round or anatomical teardrop), surface (smooth or textured), size and profile. Your surgeon will select the best option for your anatomy and wishes.
General anaesthesia is used for the surgery itself, so there is no sensation. In the first 1–3 days you may feel moderate discomfort, which painkillers relieve. Pain subsides significantly by day 5–7 and discomfort is gone by weeks 2–3. If pain becomes severe, inform your doctor right away.
Work without physical exertion can be resumed after 7–14 days. Light walks after 1–2 weeks. Fitness and swimming after 4–6 weeks, strength training after 3 months. Pool and sea after 4–6 weeks. Compression garments are worn for 4–6 weeks. Exact timing depends on how you recover.
Mammoplasty is not linked by scientific evidence to an increased breast cancer risk, and implants do not cause cancer. After surgery, keep doing regular screening: self-exams, mammography and ultrasound. Tell any examining doctor about your implants every time.
A C-section does not rule out mammoplasty, but full recovery of the body must come first. Wait 6–12 months or more after giving birth and after you stop breastfeeding. Before surgery, you must have a surgeon's consultation and check-up.
Mammoplasty does leave scars, but in the hands of a skilled surgeon they are minimal. Incisions are placed in hidden areas: under the breast, around the areola or in the armpit. Scars look reddish in the first months, yet within 6–12 months they fade and become nearly invisible.
Slight asymmetry early on, in the first weeks after surgery, is normal and is due to swelling and uneven healing. If the difference in shape or size persists after 3–6 months, get examined by your surgeon to identify the cause.
After mammoplasty, the breasts and nipples can temporarily lose or gain sensitivity. Irritation of the nerve endings is responsible. Most often sensitivity returns within 3–12 months. If there is no improvement a year later, see your surgeon.
Hormonal medicines (contraceptives, hormone replacement therapy) do not directly affect implants but may trigger swelling or changes in breast tissue volume, which temporarily affects appearance. You must tell your surgeon about such drugs before the operation.

This operation suits adult women who wish to restore or increase breast volume, including after childbirth once the body has fully recovered. Surgeons advise waiting at least 6–12 months after giving birth and after breastfeeding ends. Patients from Constanta considering it after a C-section can go ahead too, but a consultation and check-up are mandatory first.
Here is the route in brief. Consultation and choice of implants. Lab tests and instrumental examinations. Surgery lasting on average 1.5 to 3 hours. One day under round-the-clock observation. Then a recovery program with swelling control and compression garments, plus check-ups at one week, three months and half a year. Women in Constanta follow this same sequence.
Pricing is transparent: from $4,700 (≈ RON 22,500) for augmentation, the same for breast reduction or a lift without implants, and $5,400 (≈ RON 26,000) for a combined lift with implants. Reconstruction is priced on request. For people from Constanta, the plastic surgeon consultation is free, and in-house instalments make planning easier. Leave a request to get your personal correction plan.

I went to Dmitry Sergeyevich for breast augmentation with implants. At the consultation everything was explained in detail, and together we chose the best size. The operation under combined anaesthesia took 2 hours, and I was discharged home the next day. The swelling went down in about a month, and my breasts look very natural. The year of follow-up care is a real lifesaver: you can always ask a question and get an answer. Thank you to the clinic!

After two births I decided on a breast lift without implants. I chose Dmitry Sergeyevich and have no regrets. The result exceeded all my expectations: my breasts are lifted and the shape is youthful and firm. The incisions are minimal and almost invisible. I spent one day in the hospital, and the room was very comfortable. I recommend him!

Constanta sits on the Black Sea coast, and the air there is humid. Relative humidity averages 82% over the year. It reaches 88% in December and falls to 76% in July. After breast augmentation you wear compression garments for 1–1.5 months while the tissue settles, so the climate matters in a practical way. It does not change the medical plan, but it does change how comfortable the garment is on a given day and what you wear over it.
Summer is the warmest stretch. In July and August the mean daily high is 27.9 °C and the mean low is 19.7–19.9 °C. July also brings about 331 hours of sunshine. If the recovery period falls in these months, the garment is worn through the warmest part of the year. Raise this at the online consultation. The doctor can explain how to manage the garment on hot days and what to do about sun on healing scars. The recovery plan says scars develop within 3 weeks, so the first weeks need the most attention.
Winter looks different. In January the mean high is 4.7 °C and the mean low is -1.2 °C. The city has about 22 snowy days a year, with 7.83 in January and 5.25 in February. The recorded extremes are 38.5 °C and -25.0 °C. For the first 3 weeks after surgery you should not raise your arms above shoulder level. A coat that opens at the front and a scarf you can tie without lifting your arms are easier to manage than a heavy pullover. Layers also help if the garment feels warm indoors and cold outside.
One more climate detail is worth knowing. The 1991–2020 normals are warmer and wetter than those of 1961–1990. The annual mean high rose from 15.2 °C to 16.4 °C, and precipitation rose from 396 mm to 467.1 mm. So do not rely on how the seasons felt years ago. When you agree a date, look at the current forecast. October and May are the wettest months, at about 44 mm each. February is the driest, with 25.9 mm.
The beach season in Mamaia, a district of Constanta, runs from mid-June to early September. Mamaia lies on a strip of land 8 km long and 300 m wide between the Black Sea and Lake Siutghiol. The city's beach is 13 km long in total. If swimming in the sea is your goal, plan the operation backwards from the middle of June. The recovery plan gives these milestones: pool and sea from 4–6 weeks, fitness and swimming from 4–6 weeks, and no baths, saunas or physiotherapy for up to three months.
Here is an example. Suppose the operation is on Tuesday, 4 May 2027, just after the Orthodox Easter weekend. Four weeks later is 1 June, and six weeks later is 15 June. The pool and sea window therefore opens somewhere between those two dates, and the doctor decides the exact day from how your recovery is going. The 1–1.5 month garment period would end between about 4 June and 19 June. The ban on baths and saunas would run until about early August, which is not a problem for sea swimming. Strength training, which is allowed from 3 months, would also start around early August.
Now take a later date. If the operation is in late September, the same 4–6 weeks end in early to mid November. That is well outside the beach season, so the first sea swim waits until the next June. For some people that is a reason to choose a spring date. For others, cooler months suit the garment better. This is a matter of preference. Neither option is medically better according to the plan we work from, and the doctor will talk through timing with you.
Remember that these figures are typical ranges, not promises. The text we follow says that precise timing depends on individual recovery. Send your photos on WhatsApp or Telegram, tell the coordinator the month you have in mind, and ask what the plan would look like for that month. Nothing is booked until you confirm the plan and the dates.
Constanta has an active sporting scene. FCV Farul Constanta plays in Liga I, RC Farul plays rugby in the Divizia Nationala, and HCD Constanta plays handball. If you train, coach or play recreationally, you will want to know when you can use your arms and chest again. The recovery plan separates the stages fairly clearly. The first three weeks bring the strictest limits, and the plan is more permissive after that.
For 3 weeks there is no strenuous activity, meaning no lifting over 3 kg, and no raising the arms above shoulder level. That rules out overhead throws, shooting a handball, reaching up to shelves and lifting a loaded bag. Intense gym training should be skipped for up to 40 days, and overly active aerobics should be avoided. Light cardio may be possible after a month. Fitness and swimming are listed from 4–6 weeks, and strength training from 3 months.
Our material gives no separate dates for throwing sports or contact sports such as rugby. We will not make any up. If you train in a team, tell the doctor during the consultation which movements your sport involves: overhead throws, tackles, pressing, pulling or swimming. The doctor can then say which stage of the plan applies to each of them. It also helps to mention how heavy your usual weights are and how many sessions you do a week.
Preparation matters too. In the 1–2 months before surgery the plan suggests keeping a healthy balance between work and rest, sleeping more, avoiding stress and reducing physical activity. For an athlete, that means easing the training load ahead of the date and not peaking just before it. Discomfort fades after about 3 months, and by then the tissue is free of inflammatory changes and a pocket surrounds the implant. That is a sensible point to plan a full return to heavy upper-body training.
Most people return to work after 7–14 days, provided the job involves no physical exertion. The stay at the medical centre is one day with general anaesthesia, and a check-up follows at 7 days. Romania has 15 non-working days a year, so public holidays can reduce the leave you need to arrange. The days are 1–2 January, 24 January, Orthodox Easter from Friday to Monday, 1 May, 1 June, Pentecost on Sunday and Monday, 15 August, 30 November, 1 December and 25–26 December.
Here is an example in late 2026. Suppose the operation is on Thursday, 26 November. The 7-day check-up falls on Thursday, 3 December. Both 30 November (Monday) and 1 December (Tuesday) are non-working days, so two of the first seven days are already free. If the doctor agrees that a desk job is fine after 7–14 days, you may need only a few days of leave. A 3-week restriction on lifting over 3 kg and raising the arms still applies after that, so plan the workload with it in mind.
Spring is another option. Orthodox Easter Sunday is 2 May 2027, which means a long weekend from Friday 30 April to Monday 3 May, and 1 May is a non-working day too. A date soon after Easter can leave a few working days to spare. Pentecost and 1 June add further days off. The 15 August holiday sits in the middle of the beach season, so keep it in mind when you think about swimming milestones.
If you have children, look at the school calendar as well, because the first 3 weeks bring a 3 kg lifting limit. A full school bag or a small child weighs more than that. Arrange help for those weeks, or choose a date when the family's schedule is lighter. For students, Ovidius University of Constanta has about 15,000 students across 16 faculties. The exam sessions are the pressure points, so avoid a date right before one. Patients under 18 are not suitable for the procedure.
The coordinators answer round the clock on WhatsApp and Telegram, so you can fit these questions around shifts, lectures or school drop-offs. The first consultation is online and free. You will get a view on the dates and the plan before anything is reserved.
Romania's social health insurance is run by CNAS, the Casa Nationala de Asigurari de Sanatate. It manages a basic package that covers medical services, medicines, sanitary materials and medical devices. Free procedures require a health card showing that insurance contributions have been paid. EU citizens and uninsured Romanians get free emergency care. Since April 2019, insured people may pay the difference between private-provider tariffs and the fund's fees.
We found no official figure on how cosmetic surgery is covered, and no figures on waiting lists. CNAS has begun introducing co-payments for certain services that are not strictly medically necessary, and the system is described as hospital-centric with a shortage of healthcare workers. A related example: for stomach-reduction surgery, a 2024 article states that CNAS does not fully reimburse it in either state or private hospitals. Some pre- and postoperative services can be free with a family-doctor referral. Do not assume breast augmentation works the same way. Ask the insurer or your family doctor directly. Dated figures also show out-of-pocket payments at about 21% of total health expenditure, against an EU average of 15%.
Whatever the funding, the medical question comes first. Breast augmentation suits insufficient breast volume, asymmetry of shape or size, loss of volume after pregnancy and breastfeeding, and change of shape after weight loss. The plan also lists conditions that rule it out for now: pregnancy and breastfeeding, acute infectious diseases, inflamed or damaged skin in the surgical area, decompensated chronic diseases, uncorrected blood clotting disorders, uncontrolled diabetes, and malignant breast tumours before treatment is complete. If your concern can be solved without an operation, the doctor will say so.
Preparation is simple. Stop hormonal oral contraceptives at least one month before the procedure. Stop aspirin-containing drugs, steroids and hormonal medications for chronic conditions 1–2 weeks before, as the doctor advises. Complete your tests a week before the operation. These include blood tests, an ECG and any other examinations the doctor prescribes. Afterwards, check-ups at 7 days, 3 months and 6 months follow your progress, and consultations are free for a year.
Our material gives no link between local humidity and healing speed, so we do not claim one. Humidity, which averages 82% a year in Constanta, mainly affects comfort. It changes how the compression garment feels, which you wear for 1–1.5 months. Ask the doctor during the consultation how to manage it in damp or hot weather.
The recovery plan lists pool and sea from 4–6 weeks. Counting from 4 May 2027, that is roughly 1 to 15 June, just before the beach season starts in mid-June. These are typical ranges, and the doctor confirms the real date from your recovery. Swimming is also not allowed until you feel ready.
Orthodox Easter Sunday is 2 May 2027, and the non-working days run from Friday to Monday, with 1 May also a holiday. Those days can cover part of the 7–14 days many patients take before returning to desk work. Tell the coordinator the dates you prefer, and we will check them against the plan before anything is reserved.
We found no official figure on cosmetic surgery coverage. CNAS runs a basic package, free procedures need a health card showing paid insurance, and co-payments are being introduced for services that are not strictly medically necessary. Check with CNAS or your family doctor. The coordinator can describe what the medical plan includes, but not your insurance entitlement.
The plan gives general stages. For 3 weeks, no lifting over 3 kg and no arms above shoulder level. Intense gym work should wait up to 40 days, light cardio may be possible after a month, and strength training is listed from 3 months. There are no separate dates for throwing or contact sports, so describe your sport to the doctor at the consultation.
Our material names no better season. In summer the July–August mean high is 27.9 °C, so the compression garment may feel warm. In winter the January mean high is 4.7 °C, and layers must be easy to put on, since you cannot raise your arms above shoulder level for 3 weeks. Choose the season that suits your work, family and swimming plans.
Yes. The first consultation is online and free, and coordinators reply on WhatsApp and Telegram round the clock. You can send photos at any time and get a doctor's assessment. The plan and dates are confirmed before anything is booked.
Hormonal oral contraceptives should stop at least one month before the procedure. Aspirin-containing drugs, steroids and hormonal medications for chronic conditions must be stopped 1–2 weeks before. Your tests should be done a week before the operation. Never change medication for a chronic condition without the doctor's instruction, and tell the coordinator everything you take.
