Step by step
An agreed plan for the correction, observation in hospital and recovery monitoring for a year.
1The surgeon assesses your figure, discusses your wishes and chooses the best volume, shape and correction method.
2We reserve a surgery date for you: the deposit can be paid by card at the clinic or online by bank transfer. The terms are fixed in the contract for medical services
3Before the operation you take a full set of tests: blood tests, an ECG and any other examinations the doctor prescribes.
4Your surgeon carries out the mammoplasty following your personal plan, under general anaesthesia and with constant monitoring of your condition.
5Following surgery, you recover in a comfortable inpatient ward of the clinic with the medical team looking after you until discharge.
6You get a personal recovery programme after the operation. Follow-up visits at 7 days, 3 and 6 months monitor healing; for a year, surgeon consultations are free of charge.

In the run-up to surgery, follow simple advice: keep work and rest in healthy balance, sleep more, avoid stress, anxiety and emotional strain, and ease off physical activity.
Stop taking hormonal oral contraceptives at least one month prior to the procedure
Before surgery, come off aspirin-containing drugs, steroids and any hormonal medications for chronic conditions
Do your tests a week before the operation
Post-op swelling disappears after 3 weeks
Within 3 weeks, scars form
No physical exertion (lifting over 3 kg)
Keep arms below shoulder level — 3 weeks
Recovering after correction includes 1–1.5 months of wearing compression wear
Avoid heavy gym workouts and overly energetic aerobics for up to 40 days; after a month, light cardio may be allowed. Mind your diet and your meals.
Discomfort fades after 3 months
For as long as three months, no baths, saunas or physiotherapy
By 3 months, inflammatory changes in the tissue have resolved and a “pocket” has formed around the implant

FAQ
Yes. Boob job is the everyday name for breast augmentation. At City Medical Centre it is done with round or anatomical implants that the surgeon chooses with you at the consultation.
Breast enlargement adds volume with implants. A breast lift (mastopexy) raises sagging breasts and removes excess skin. Which one suits you is decided at the free consultation.
Mammoplasty includes several procedures: augmentation (adding volume with implants), reduction (removing excess tissue and skin), mastopexy (lifting sagging breasts), reconstruction (after mastectomy) and asymmetry correction. The optimal method is selected individually, based on your wishes and the surgeon's recommendation.
Message us — our coordinator will get back to you shortly and book your consultation. The plastic surgeon consultation is free.
Complications are infrequent provided all recommendations are followed. They may include hematoma or seroma, infection of the wound, changes in nipple sensitivity (lower or higher), capsular contracture, aesthetic asymmetry, wound separation and tissue necrosis.
Mammoplasty results last a long time: about 10–15 years after augmentation (until implant replacement) and 5–10 years after a lift or reduction. Weight, pregnancy, skin aging and gravity affect how long it lasts. To maintain the result, wear supportive underwear and control your weight.
Whether you can breastfeed after mammoplasty depends on the kind of surgery. After augmentation via an under-breast or armpit incision with the implant placed under the muscle, lactation is usually preserved, since the glandular tissue is not damaged. A lift or reduction carries a higher risk because ducts may be cut. Talk this over with your surgeon beforehand.
Implant choice is based on material (silicone gives the most natural appearance, saline is used more rarely), shape (round or anatomical teardrop), surface (smooth or textured), size and profile. Your surgeon will pick the best one for your anatomy and goals.
Under general anaesthesia the patient feels nothing during the operation. Some moderate discomfort can appear in the first 1–3 days and is controlled with painkillers. By day 5–7 pain lessens markedly, and discomfort ends by weeks 2–3. Tell your doctor right away if the pain is severe.
Most patients return to work (without physical exertion) after 7–14 days. Light walks are fine after 1–2 weeks. Fitness and swimming come after 4–6 weeks, strength training after 3 months, pool and sea after 4–6 weeks. Compression garments are worn for 4–6 weeks. Exact timing depends on your recovery.
Scientific evidence does not show that mammoplasty increases breast cancer risk. Implants do not lead to cancer. After surgery, stay on top of regular screening through self-exams, mammography and ultrasound. Always let the examining doctor know you have implants.
Mammoplasty can follow a C-section, but first your body must fully recover. Allow a minimum of 6–12 months from giving birth and from the end of breastfeeding. Before surgery, a consultation and check-up with the surgeon are required.
There are scars after mammoplasty, though a skilled surgeon keeps them minimal. The incisions go in discreet areas, such as under the breast, around the areola or in the armpit. Early on the scars are reddish, but over 6–12 months they fade and are almost unnoticeable.
Slight asymmetry early on, in the first weeks after surgery, is normal and is due to swelling and uneven healing. If the difference in shape or size persists after 3–6 months, get examined by your surgeon to identify the cause.
After mammoplasty, the breasts and nipples can temporarily lose or gain sensitivity. Irritation of the nerve endings is responsible. Most often sensitivity returns within 3–12 months. If there is no improvement a year later, see your surgeon.
There is no direct effect of hormonal drugs (contraceptives, hormone replacement therapy) on implants, but swelling or changes in breast tissue volume may occur and temporarily affect appearance. Let your surgeon know about these medications before surgery.

No earlier than 6–12 months after childbirth and the end of breastfeeding. A consultation and check-up with the surgeon come first.
The operation is followed by one day in hospital. Lifting your arms above shoulder level is off for 3 weeks, so plan help with lifting and carrying. The doctor sets the follow-up visits.
Light cardio may be possible after about a month. Intense training waits up to 40 days, and for the first 3 weeks you should not lift your arms above your shoulders.
Yes. Send us the date you have in mind on WhatsApp or Telegram. The first consultation is free, and you can start it online with the photos and details you send; the clinic then confirms the nearest available dates for the consultation and the operation before you plan anything.
Height, weight, age, current and desired bra size, and details of pregnancies, breastfeeding and any earlier breast surgery. The coordinator explains which photos to send; the price is confirmed after the review.
Write to us on WhatsApp or Telegram or leave a request on this page. The coordinator asks for the photos and health details the doctor needs, and the doctor gives you a free assessment and a price.
At least 1.5 months, the time compression garments are worn. Post-op swelling disappears after about 3 weeks, intense gym training is skipped for up to 40 days, and baths and saunas are off for up to three months.
Mammoplasty is a family of procedures, and augmentation is only one of them. Alongside it, Liverpool patients can discuss breast reduction, a lift with or without implants, implant removal, reconstruction after surgery or injury and asymmetry correction. The right method is picked individually, weighing your wishes against the surgeon's advice, so the result highlights your individuality rather than following a template.
The journey begins with an initial consultation: the doctor examines and palpates the breasts to rule out lumps and discusses expectations with you. Patients from Liverpool then complete a pre-op work-up — blood tests, coagulation panel, infection screening, ECG, chest X-ray and breast ultrasound. The surgery lasts 1.5 to 3 hours under general anaesthesia, followed by one day of inpatient observation.
A free consultation is the easiest way to get an exact figure. The surgeon assesses your anatomy, models the result and confirms the plan; the base cost of augmentation is from $4,700 (≈ £3,600). Everything around the surgery — anaesthesia, inpatient stay, 24/7 monitoring, personal support and a year of follow-up — is in that amount. Patients from Liverpool can apply through the site or a messenger.

I went to Dmitry Sergeyevich for breast augmentation with implants. At the consultation everything was explained in detail, and together we chose the best size. The operation under combined anaesthesia took 2 hours, and I was discharged home the next day. The swelling went down in about a month, and my breasts look very natural. The year of follow-up care is a real lifesaver: you can always ask a question and get an answer. Thank you to the clinic!

After two births I decided on a breast lift without implants. I chose Dmitry Sergeyevich and have no regrets. The result exceeded all my expectations: my breasts are lifted and the shape is youthful and firm. The incisions are minimal and almost invisible. I spent one day in the hospital, and the room was very comfortable. I recommend him!

The question we hear most from patients who write from Liverpool is not about implants at all. It is about clothes. After breast augmentation you wear a compression garment for one to one and a half months, and everything you put on over it has to be loose, soft and easy to step into. Met Office normals for 1991 to 2020 at the Crosby station, about 11 km from the city centre, give a mean daily maximum of 7.5 °C in January, 12.8 °C in April and 20.0 °C in July. So the same weeks of compression feel quite different depending on the month you choose, and it is worth planning your wardrobe before the date is fixed rather than after.
A recovery that falls in the colder part of the year is, in one sense, easier to dress for. A wide cardigan, a front-opening shirt and a long coat hide the garment, and cold air is not a problem for a person who is staying home. A recovery that falls in the warmer months needs lighter layers that do not cling. In both cases choose tops that open at the front, because the arms must not be raised above shoulder level for three weeks. Pulling a jumper over the head is exactly the movement to avoid.
Rain is spread across the whole Liverpool year, from 49.8 mm in April to 91.9 mm in December at the Crosby station. That makes an umbrella with a long handle a better friend than a heavy bag. Leave the shoulder bag at home for the first weeks, and ask a relative to carry the shopping. Small adjustments of this kind protect the work and take almost no effort.
Liverpool is a large city, with about 486,100 residents at the 2021 census, a rise of 4.2 per cent on 2011, and a median age of 35 according to the Office for National Statistics. Numbers like these say nothing about any one woman, but they remind us that many people in this city are looking for the same practical answers at the same time. That is why our consultation is built around your calendar, your clothes and your own questions, not around a standard script.
Two shapes of implant are used at the clinic, round and anatomical. A round implant gives even volume with more fullness in the upper part of the breast and a symmetrical round outline. An anatomical implant is shaped to follow a more natural slope. Neither is the right answer for everyone, and the doctor chooses together with you at the consultation, taking into account your proportions, your wishes and the condition of the tissue.
In an online consultation the work is done through photographs and conversation, so prepare them well. Take pictures from the front, from both sides and in a three-quarter view, standing straight with arms relaxed, in a well-lit room, without filters and in simple underwear. Add your height and weight, and tell the doctor whether you have been pregnant or breastfed, or whether your weight has changed a lot. Reduced volume after pregnancy and breastfeeding, a change of shape after weight loss, and asymmetry are all reasons women ask for augmentation, and the doctor wants to hear which applies to you.
Ask to see how the implant type will look in practice. The clinic can model changes during the consultation, and the doctor explains what the operation can and cannot do, so that you know exactly what result is the target. A good question is how the outcome differs between round and anatomical shapes in a person of your build. Another is what you should expect of your breasts a year from now, once the tissue around each implant has settled.
Do not be afraid to say what you do not want. Some women ask for a very natural result with a modest increase, others for pronounced volume and fullness. Both are legitimate requests, and the doctor can only help if the wish is spoken aloud. A picture from a magazine is less useful than a sentence such as: I would like to fill a bra one size up and keep my shoulders in proportion with my hips.
Every phase of recovery has its own boundary. The operation is done under general anaesthesia, with a single day at the clinic. Most people return to office work after 7 to 14 days. The swelling from the operation disappears after about three weeks, and the scars develop in the same period. For those same three weeks the arms stay below shoulder level. Compression garments stay on for 1 to 1.5 months.
Sport comes back in stages. Intense gym training is left for up to 40 days, and strongly active aerobics are avoided. Light cardio may be possible after a month, if the doctor agrees. Baths, saunas and physiotherapy are not allowed for up to three months. By the third month the discomfort has faded and the tissue around the implant has become free of inflammatory changes, with a pocket around each implant. Check-ups follow at 7 days, 3 months and 6 months, and consultations with the doctor are free for a year.
Lay this against your own diary. If you swim in a pool or the sea during the summer, work out when three months will have passed. If you go to a gym in the evenings, count 40 days forward and mark the date. If you have a family event in the second month, decide beforehand what you will wear and whether you will be able to stand through the whole evening. Sending your dates to the coordinator takes a minute and saves you from guessing.
One more thing to put on the calendar is sleep. In the early weeks most patients rest more comfortably on their back, with a pillow or two behind the shoulders. A comfortable bedroom, low lighting in the evening and a quiet routine help the body use the first three weeks well. This is general common sense, not a new medical rule, and your doctor gives the individual instructions.
The NHS states that cosmetic surgery is not routinely provided and may occasionally be provided for psychological or other health reasons. In practice breast augmentation done for appearance is arranged outside the NHS. If you have a health reason for your breast operation, begin with your GP, who can explain what the NHS offers in your situation and refer you where appropriate.
For the operation at our clinic a few medical limits apply. It is not suitable in pregnancy or during breastfeeding, with inflammation or damaged skin in the area of surgery, under the age of 18, or with uncontrolled diabetes. Hormonal oral contraceptives are stopped at least one month before the operation, and tests are taken a week before. Do not stop any prescribed medicine on your own; list everything you take in your first message and let the doctor decide.
In the one to two months before the date, the clinic advises you to keep a steady balance of work and rest, to sleep more, to avoid stress and strong emotions, and to cut back on physical activity. That sounds simple, but it is easier to plan when the date is not squeezed against a deadline at work.
Questions about reduction, lifting without implants, lifting with implants, and implant removal are part of the same family of procedures. If your goal is to reduce volume and weight because of discomfort, say so. If you want to correct sagging rather than add size, say so. The method follows the goal, so the clearer the goal, the better the plan the doctor can give you.
Everything begins with a message in WhatsApp or Telegram. A coordinator replies, asks for a few photographs and sets up a free consultation, and the doctor then tells you whether augmentation is right for you and which method fits. The coordinators are available around the clock, so it does not matter if you write at six in the morning before a shift or at midnight after one.
Ask about the stay. After the operation you recover in a comfortable inpatient ward under constant nursing care, with meals included. Ask when the first change of dressings happens, when you may shower, and when you may drive. Ask how the 7-day, 3-month and 6-month check-ups will be arranged for a patient who lives in Liverpool, and how the doctor follows the change in breast shape over the first year.
Take your time. The price is named by the doctor after the consultation and fixed in the contract, and nothing is booked until the plan and the dates are confirmed by you.
An online conversation about such a personal subject can feel awkward at first, but it is a normal medical consultation. You are talking to a doctor who sees photographs and hears your reasons, and the coordinator who arranged the call stays in touch afterwards. If you prefer, start by writing in the chat and move to a video call later.
Prepare four things. First, your photographs. Second, a list of medicines and supplements, including oral contraceptives. Third, a short medical history: operations, allergies, chronic conditions, pregnancies, breastfeeding. Fourth, your dates: when you could take a week or two off, when you have a major event, and when you plan to take a holiday.
In the consultation, ask how the shape and volume will be chosen, how the recovery programme is organised and what check-ups you will have in the first year. The clinic provides check-ups at 7 days, 3 months and 6 months and free consultations with the doctor for a year, and you should hear exactly how each of them will work for a patient at home in Liverpool.
Finally, ask for time. Nobody expects you to decide in one call. You can take the plan away, compare it with your diary and come back with more questions, and the coordinator will not push you.
Buy two or three loose tops that open at the front, with wide sleeves. You will not be able to lift your arms above shoulder level for three weeks, so avoid anything you must pull over the head.
Baths, saunas and physiotherapy are not allowed for up to three months, and the clinic advises avoiding intense training for up to 40 days. Count back from your holiday date and ask the coordinator which dates are open.
Send your height and weight and clear photographs. The doctor estimates the volume and the implant type from the images and the conversation, so you do not need to measure yourself.
Your coordinator replies around the clock in WhatsApp and Telegram. Write when it suits you, and the team will help arrange a time for the doctor's online consultation.
The NHS says cosmetic surgery is not routinely provided. If there is a health reason for your breast operation, your GP is the right first conversation.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding are reasons the operation cannot go ahead. Tell the coordinator your situation, and the doctor will advise when a consultation and an operation make sense.
Light, loose fabrics and darker colours help. Ask your coordinator about the type of garment, and plan your outfits with the 1 to 1.5 months in mind.
The clinic also performs a lift with or without implants, and a reduction. The doctor looks at your photographs and your wishes and recommends the method at the consultation.
Send them only to the coordinator in WhatsApp or Telegram, and ask how they will be stored and who sees them. Pictures should show the body without your face if you prefer.
Use the compression garment as directed for the first 1 to 1.5 months, and ask the doctor when you may return to a bra of your choice.
