FAQ

Rhinoplasty:
your questions answered

Rhinoplasty (nose job) — one of the most delicate and in-demand plastic surgeries, meant to reshape the nose according to the individual proportions of the nose and the whole face. Today's rhinoplasty is not simply an operation that changes how the nose looks, but complex surgical work aimed at an aesthetic ideal while protecting health.

Rhinoplasty in Preston: price and what is included

Prices are in US dollars; the amount in brackets is an approximate conversion to GBP at the rate of 02.10.2026. The final price is fixed in your contract.

How much does rhinoplasty in Preston cost?

Prices start from $4,200 (≈ £3,200). The surgeon sets the final price at the free consultation, and it is fixed in the contract, with no hidden extras.

What is included in the price?

The operation under general anaesthesia, a one-day inpatient stay, follow-up visits and dressings, plus a lifetime guarantee on the result.

How long do the procedure and recovery take?

Surgery takes 1.5–3 hours and you stay one day in the clinic. The nasal splints come out on day 7, and the cast is worn for up to 14 days.

Is the first consultation free?

Yes. The first consultation is free and does not oblige you to anything. You can start online by sending a message to the coordinator.

How do I get my exact price?

Message us on WhatsApp or Telegram using the buttons below. A coordinator will answer your questions and book a free consultation where the doctor names the exact price.

Rhinoplasty from Preston: what patients ask us

How do I book rhinoplasty for a date that suits me?

Message the coordinator with your preferred date. The first consultation is free, and you can start it online with photos of your nose; the clinic then confirms which dates are open, and only after that is anything booked.

Can I get a rhinoplasty consultation without leaving Preston?

Yes. The first consultation is free and starts online: send photos of your nose (front, profile and three-quarter view) on WhatsApp or Telegram, and the surgeon reviews them and explains what can be changed and the price.

I have an event coming up. When should I have rhinoplasty?

Book the operation at least 2–3 weeks before the date. The nasal cast is worn for up to 14 days, and the main swelling subsides in 2–3 weeks; the final result is judged after 1–1.5 years.

I have a deviated septum. Can it be corrected together with the shape of my nose?

Often, yes: septum correction and reshaping can be combined in one operation, called rhinoseptoplasty. The surgeon confirms it after checking your breathing and the septum.

Can a previous rhinoplasty be corrected?

Yes, with revision (secondary) rhinoplasty. It is more complex than the first operation and is performed no earlier than one year after it. Send photos and details of the previous surgery for an assessment.

How does the surgeon assess my nose before the consultation?

From photos of your nose you send to the coordinator in the chat. Mention past nose operations or blocked breathing; the doctor uses this to say whether rhinoplasty is right for you.

What should a patient from Preston plan for after rhinoplasty?

Surgery takes 1.5–3 hours, followed by a day under observation; check-ups follow at 7 days, 3 and 6 months.

Rhinoplasty in Preston: what you need to know

A nose that fits the face changes the whole impression while keeping you recognisable. That is the principle behind rhinoplasty: correcting the hump, width, tip or nostrils in line with facial proportions. People in Preston who browse before-and-after photos online should instead discuss at a consultation what modern rhinoplasty can and cannot do in their specific case.

Safety depends on each step. Full diagnostics include tests, CT, ECG and exams by the surgeon and anaesthetist. After surgery, do not remove dressings or splints yourself, press on your nose, wear glasses or sleep face down. Regular follow-up visits catch small deviations early. People from Preston are advised to contact the doctor right away in case of severe pain, fever or breathing difficulty.

How much is a nose job in Preston? The base price is $4,200 (≈ £3,200) for the full package — from the operation itself to follow-up visits and dressings. The final amount depends on the extent of surgery and is set once the surgeon has examined your nose and facial proportions. Leave your name and phone number, and a coordinator will book your free consultation.

Patient reviews

What patients write after this operation. Reviews are translated from the original language.

Ekaterina Ivanova

For a long time I was self-conscious about the length of my nose, until a friend who had had rhinoplasty recommended this clinic. At the very first consultation they set the date of surgery and explained every stage in detail. The rhinoplasty under general anaesthesia was performed by Mareta Meirieva: the swelling went down quickly, and after just a week my nose looked natural and neat. Modern equipment, attentive staff and appointments without delays made the whole process comfortable. I recommend the clinic to anyone who values professionalism and a quality result.

Rhinoplasty

Olga Vasilyeva

This was my first visit to the clinic, for rhinoseptoplasty, and to be honest I was very nervous. At the consultation they explained every stage of the operation and recovery in detail, which calmed me down straight away. The operation was performed by Mareta Meirieva: the swelling started to go down on the third day, and the result is visible to the naked eye. Everything inside is sterile and pleasant, the atmosphere inspires trust, and the staff are always responsive. I thank the clinic for the high level of service and the warm approach!

Rhinoplasty

Marina Samarina

Everything was first-class: clean, cosy and calm. Booking and choosing the right date was easy. The nose operation went smoothly and the nerve block was done perfectly: now I breathe freely without nasal drops! It is a real lifesaver for anyone tired of endless prescriptions and ineffective procedures. I recommend it to everyone who values professionalism and results.

Rhinoplasty

Viktoria Petrova

I recently had rhinoplasty and I am absolutely delighted. At the consultation they told me about every stage in detail, so I went into surgery fully prepared. The operation went smoothly: they straightened the bridge of my nose and made the nostrils symmetrical, and the shape came out very neat. The swelling lasted a little longer than I expected, but they explained straight away that full recovery takes more time. No unpleasant surprises, everything was within the normal range. I recommend the clinic to anyone looking for a confident result and an attentive attitude.

Rain on about 150 days a year: what the weather means for a nose that has to breathe

Preston sits on the north bank of the River Ribble, and the climate figures for Preston Moor Park (1971-2000) describe a wet place. Annual rainfall is just under 1,000 mm (997.99 mm), and more than 1 mm falls on about 150 days of the year. October (113.78 mm), November (103.86 mm) and December (112.02 mm) are the wettest months. April is the driest, with 52.08 mm. For a rhinoplasty patient this is a planning detail, not an obstacle. If you already notice blocked breathing in the damp months, you can bring that observation to the consultation as a concrete note.

Rhinoplasty is not only about appearance. In its primary form it adjusts the shape of the nose and also improves breathing when airflow is restricted. A deviated septum, a marked breathing problem or an earlier nasal injury all appear in the list of situations where rhinoplasty tackles the problem. Residents of a rainy region often put up with a stuffy nose for years because "it is just the weather". Keep a short diary for a few weeks, noting which side blocks, at what time of day, and whether it is worse outdoors or in heated rooms. That makes the online conversation with the doctor far more precise than "I breathe badly".

Cold matters too. The coldest month is January, with a mean maximum of 6.9 °C and a mean minimum of 1.7 °C. Over the year the mean maximum is 13.0 °C and the mean minimum 6.4 °C. About nine snow days a year are recorded, two each in December, January and February. We do not claim that cold air changes the operation. The point is that the winter months are when many people first notice their nasal breathing, because they step from heated rooms into raw outdoor air several times a day. If that is you, say so when you send your photos.

One contraindication in the medical list deserves attention in a damp climate: inflammation of the ears, throat, nose or eyes. A cold or a flare-up of sinus trouble in the weeks before surgery is something to report to your coordinator straight away. Do not wait until the day of admission. The doctor decides whether to proceed or adjust the date, and a short delay is far better than operating on inflamed tissue.

The warmest months are July (mean maximum 19.8 °C, minimum 12.2 °C) and August (19.5 °C maximum). They are mild rather than hot, so there is no sharp split between a "hot season" and a "cold season" for planning. What differs is how you spend your time. In the wetter autumn months most people are indoors and the days are short. Many find that easier for a quiet week at home after discharge, though that is a personal choice and not a medical rule.

If you have seasonal allergies, mention them even though we have no pollen figures for Preston to quote. Allergies change how the nose behaves day to day, and the doctor can take them into account when judging the cause of your breathing difficulty. Photographs alone cannot show that.

Counting back from Christmas: building a calendar around the splint

The most common reason people give for choosing a date is an event: a wedding, a graduation, a reunion, the end-of-year holidays. Rhinoplasty answers to a different clock. The operation takes 1.5 to 3 hours under general anaesthesia, and you stay one day at the clinic. After discharge you have a recovery programme, with check-ups at 7 days, 3 months and 6 months. The nasal splint and the swelling are the visible part of the first period, so work backwards from the day you want to be on show, not forwards from the day you feel ready.

Bank holidays give a useful frame. For 2026, GOV.UK lists eight in England and Wales. The ones that matter if you are thinking of late-year timing are Christmas Day on 25 December and the substitute Boxing Day on 28 December. If you are reading this in November 2026 and hoping to look your best on Christmas Day, be realistic. Preparation should begin 21 days before the operation, and the pre-surgery tests come first. Those tests are a complete blood count, biochemistry, a coagulation panel, a chest X-ray and an X-ray of the sinuses. A calendar that skips them is not a plan.

A calmer approach is to treat the holiday period as recovery time rather than as the event. With the days around 25 and 28 December free from work, some patients prefer to be at home with the splint on and have their first weeks pass out of sight. Others would rather not spend the holidays that way. Neither choice is wrong. Message the coordinator on WhatsApp or Telegram with your preferred window, and the doctor will say whether it fits your case after reviewing your photographs and the 3D model.

Preston has a longer rhythm of its own as well. The Preston Guild, a civic celebration held every 20 years since 1328 under a charter of 1179, last took place in 2012. It is the only guild still celebrated in the UK. If you like to anchor your plans to a big public occasion, the 20-year cycle points to 2032. For most patients that is far too distant to be useful. It does show why timing around "the big event" is a habit worth questioning: a nose operation should be scheduled by your health and recovery needs, not by a date that keeps drifting closer.

Students and young adults make up a visible part of the city's population. The University of Lancashire, formerly UCLan, had over 33,000 students in 2006. The optimal age for primary rhinoplasty is 18 to 45, and surgery under 18 is not suitable, so a student turning 18 can plan with care. Term dates and exams are a practical matter: arranging the operation in a quieter stretch of the academic calendar means fewer missed obligations. We cannot tell you which weeks are quiet for your course, but your coordinator can help you fit the dates you give her.

Finally, leave a margin. The doctor names the extent of the correction at the consultation, and the contract fixes the terms. If a date slips because of a cold, a blood-test result or a change of work, you lose little by moving it. You lose a lot by forcing a deadline against an event.

Glasses, scarves and the colour of the splint

Glasses are the everyday object that suddenly matters after rhinoplasty, because they rest on exactly the area that is healing. We will not invent a number of weeks, since the service information does not give one. Ask the doctor at the online consultation how you should handle glasses during recovery and write down the answer. If you wear them all day, ask also about alternatives such as contact lenses in the early period, and raise it with your coordinator when planning your first week at home.

Sun is the second habit to raise. Preston's warmest months are mild, but a mild day still involves daylight and sunglasses. The same question applies: how and when to wear them over a healing nose. Your recovery programme is written after the operation, and the check-ups at 7 days, 3 months and 6 months are the moments to ask. Free specialist consultations stay available for a year afterwards, so these small questions have a proper place to go.

Cold weather brings scarves, hats and the occasional hood. With the January mean maximum of 6.9 °C and a few snow days in each winter month, most people wrap up. Again, avoid guesses: tell the coordinator what you normally wear on your face and head, and the doctor will explain what is sensible during the first period. Walking in rain is a different matter from walking in snow, and both are normal in Preston, so planning those first outdoor trips is worth a short conversation.

The nasal splint is the one part of the process where you get a choice that is purely about taste. The clinic offers colours: purple, gold, green, light blue, pink, yellow, raspberry and carbon. It sounds like a minor detail, but a splint is what you and the people around you will see for the first stretch of recovery. Some people choose a bright colour so they do not feel they are hiding. Others pick carbon for something quiet. Decide before the day of admission and tell your coordinator, so it is one thing fewer to think about.

Contact with people is part of planning. If you work with the public, take classes or look after children, think about how you want to explain the splint. A short, factual sentence is usually enough: "I had nose surgery and I'm recovering." You do not owe anyone a longer account, and not having to improvise makes the first week easier.

Photos are the other everyday tool. Before the operation, take clear photos of your nose from the front, from both sides and slightly from below. Use the same light each time, in a bright but not harsh room. Those are what the doctor works from during the free online assessment, and the 3D model of the future result is built on that anatomical information. Good photos mean a better forecast and fewer follow-up questions.

NHS or private: where breathing and appearance part ways

NHS guidance is clear on the principle. Cosmetic surgery is not routinely provided on the NHS, but the NHS might pay for some procedures for psychological or other health reasons. Rhinoplasty is named as an example when you have breathing problems. Most people who want cosmetic surgery need to pay privately. If your reason is entirely about the look of your nose, that is the route. If your breathing is a real problem, a GP is the starting point for the NHS option, and an online consultation with us is an additional way to understand your anatomy.

Waiting times belong in that decision. According to the NHS England press notice of 10 September 2026, there were 7.3 million pathways waiting to start treatment at the end of July 2026, covering around 6.2 million unique patients, and 111,379 had waited more than 52 weeks. These are national figures, not a forecast for Preston or for nose surgery specifically. They do explain why many people look at other routes when they would rather not wait. They are also a reason to be realistic: whichever route you choose, ask for the plan in writing.

The service options here are layered. Primary rhinoplasty changes shape and also tackles restricted breathing. Rhinoseptoplasty combines correction of the septum with a change in the appearance of the nose, and the typical indication is a deviated septum. Septoplasty alone corrects the septum and restores normal breathing while leaving the outer contour intact. Revision rhinoplasty is a repeat correction after an unsuccessful or partly successful operation, performed no earlier than a year after the primary one. Knowing which of these your problem belongs to is the most useful thing you can take from the first consultation.

Weight and general health are the other part of the picture. The Health Survey for England 2022 reports that 29% of adults live with obesity and 64% are overweight or living with obesity. By region, obesity ranges from 39% in the North East to 21% in London. Preston is in the North West, and those regional numbers are age-standardised averages that say nothing about you. The medical list in our own information names decompensated chronic diseases and blood clotting problems among the contraindications. If you have a chronic condition, tell the coordinator at the start so the doctor can ask for the right documents before the date is reserved.

It helps to separate your reasons. Ask yourself whether the main complaint is how you breathe, how the nose looks, or both. If it is both, rhinoseptoplasty may be the question to put to the doctor. If it is only appearance, primary rhinoplasty is the base case. If you have had an operation before and are unhappy, revision is the category, and the one-year minimum applies. Writing this down before you contact us saves time.

The service is delivered with a contract. The price is named by the doctor after the free consultation and then fixed in the contract; this text does not quote figures, and the coordinator will give you the exact terms. The contract also sets out the surgery, support and follow-up arrangements, so you know what you are agreeing to before you reserve a date.

One day at the clinic, planned from your own sofa

The consultation is online, and so is much of the preparation. You message the coordinator on WhatsApp or Telegram, send photographs and receive a free assessment. The doctor then builds a 3D model of the future result, and the consultation is free, before surgery, with no commitment. Coordinators answer round the clock, so a question that occurs to you at midnight after a wet Preston evening does not have to wait. The first reply normally arrives within 15 minutes.

After the assessment the sequence is straightforward. The date is reserved once the deposit is paid, either by card at the clinic or online by bank transfer, and the terms are confirmed in a contract for medical services. Before the operation you need the complete set of lab tests described earlier, and preparation should start 21 days before. At the first appointment you receive a list of required tests, with validity periods such as two weeks for the blood count and urinalysis. Put those validity periods into your calendar, since a test done too early may need repeating.

On the day, rhinoplasty is carried out under general anaesthesia and takes 1.5 to 3 hours depending on complexity. You then stay in the clinic's inpatient unit for one day. Meals at the clinic, follow-up visits and dressings, consumables and personal coordinator support are included in the stated package. Three coordinators look after different stages: one before the first consultation, one during the stay and one through recovery up to the final check-up. Ask each of them the small practical questions that do not feel important enough for the doctor.

Being based in a city with a Ribble waterfront, a dock that closed in 1981 and a canal link does not change any of this. What it changes is the logistics around you: your family, your work, your regular routes. A calm week after discharge, with the splint on and someone nearby for the first days, is the realistic goal. Arrange who will collect you, who will cover the school run, and whether your employer needs a short note. These are not medical decisions, but they decide whether the recovery period feels manageable.

Population figures give a sense of scale. Preston had 147,835 residents at the 2021 census, and the City of Preston district 156,411 in 2023, while the built-up area reached 313,322. As the administrative centre of Lancashire it draws people from a wide area. That matters here only because patients come from many small towns around it, and online work removes the need for repeated trips. The same coordinator who answers a patient in the centre answers someone from the surrounding area in the same way.

If after the consultation the doctor tells you rhinoplasty is not needed, that is a legitimate outcome. The information says so directly: if surgery is not actually needed, you will be told at the consultation, saving you unnecessary expense. The same applies if a contraindication appears, such as a blood-clotting problem or active inflammation. A clear "not now" is part of the service.

Is January a sensible month to plan rhinoplasty if I live in Preston?

Nothing in the medical information ties the operation to a season. January is the coldest month in Preston, with a mean maximum of 6.9 °C and a mean minimum of 1.7 °C, and about two snow days. The main practical point is to avoid operating while you have a cold or other inflammation of the nose, throat, ears or eyes, because that is listed as a contraindication. Tell your coordinator about any recent infection and the doctor will advise on the date.

Can I plan the operation so the splint is off before Christmas Day on 25 December 2026?

Work back from the date rather than forward. Preparation starts 21 days before the operation, the pre-surgery tests take time, and the recovery programme includes check-ups at 7 days, 3 months and 6 months. We cannot give a fixed number of days for the splint from the information we hold, so the doctor must confirm your timetable at the consultation. If you contact us in November, send your photos and your target date straight away and the coordinator will say whether it is realistic.

Does Preston's rainy climate affect the choice between rhinoplasty and rhinoseptoplasty?

The climate does not decide it; your anatomy does. Rhinoplasty changes the shape of the nose and improves breathing when airflow is restricted, while rhinoseptoplasty is chosen when a deviated septum also needs correcting. If your breathing worsens in the wet months, with rain on about 150 days a year, record when and on which side the blockage occurs and mention it. The doctor decides which operation fits after reviewing your photos and examinations.

Will the NHS pay for my nose operation if I live in Lancashire?

NHS guidance says cosmetic surgery is not routinely provided, but the NHS might pay for some procedures for health reasons, and rhinoplasty for breathing problems is given as an example. Most people who want it for appearance alone pay privately. National waiting lists were large at the end of July 2026, with 7.3 million pathways waiting. Your GP is the person to ask about NHS eligibility, and an online consultation with us can still help you understand your options.

How should I handle glasses and winter clothing around the nose while it heals?

The information we hold gives no fixed number of weeks, so we do not quote one. Ask the doctor at the online consultation how to deal with glasses, sunglasses, scarves and hoods during recovery, and write the answer down. Follow-up check-ups at 7 days, 3 months and 6 months are good moments to ask again, and free consultations with the doctor continue for a year after surgery.

Can a student turning 18 in Preston have rhinoplasty?

Age under 18 is listed as a contraindication, and the optimal age is 18 to 45. So someone who has just turned 18 can be assessed, but a doctor still has to confirm suitability from your photographs and examinations. Plan the date around exams and term time, since you will need a quiet period at home and one day at the clinic.

What should I prepare before messaging the coordinator from Preston?

Take clear photos of your nose from the front, both sides and slightly from below, in the same even light. Write down your breathing symptoms, any earlier nose injury or operation, chronic conditions, allergies and the dates you would like to avoid. Mention any recent infection of the nose, throat, ears or eyes. The coordinator answers round the clock on WhatsApp and Telegram, and the doctor builds the 3D model after seeing your photos.

What happens if I am not suitable for rhinoplasty?

The doctor will tell you at the free consultation. Contraindications include infectious diseases, cancer, mental health disorders, age under 18, decompensated chronic diseases, blood clotting problems, skin damage in the planned area and inflammation of the ears, throat, nose or eyes. If surgery is not needed in your case, you are told so and avoid an unnecessary expense. If the obstacle is temporary, the date can be moved.
