Everything about rhinoplasty for Murcia patients

Who is a candidate? The optimal age is 18 to 45, when the nose is fully formed and tissues heal well; with medical indications, older patients can also be considered if health allows. Indications include asymmetric cartilage or nostrils and significant breathing problems. Anyone researching rhinoplasty in Murcia should know the contraindications too: decompensated chronic disease, skin damage or inflammation in the area.

The surgical plan is made at the first meeting: the surgeon examines the septum and breathing, builds a 3D or 4D model and agrees on the changes with you. Preparation with tests, a CT scan and specialist consultations follows. After the operation, a recovery course is prescribed. If you are planning rhinoplasty in Murcia, allow for one month without sport, alcohol or smoking.

How much is a nose job in Murcia? The base price is $4,200 (≈ €3,750) for the full package — from the operation itself to follow-up visits and dressings. The final amount depends on the extent of surgery and is set once the surgeon has examined your nose and facial proportions. Leave your name and phone number, and a coordinator will book your free consultation.

Patient reviews

What patients write after this operation. Reviews are translated from the original language.

Ekaterina Ivanova

For a long time I was self-conscious about the length of my nose, until a friend who had had rhinoplasty recommended this clinic. At the very first consultation they set the date of surgery and explained every stage in detail. The rhinoplasty under general anaesthesia was performed by Mareta Meirieva: the swelling went down quickly, and after just a week my nose looked natural and neat. Modern equipment, attentive staff and appointments without delays made the whole process comfortable. I recommend the clinic to anyone who values professionalism and a quality result.

Rhinoplasty

Olga Vasilyeva

This was my first visit to the clinic, for rhinoseptoplasty, and to be honest I was very nervous. At the consultation they explained every stage of the operation and recovery in detail, which calmed me down straight away. The operation was performed by Mareta Meirieva: the swelling started to go down on the third day, and the result is visible to the naked eye. Everything inside is sterile and pleasant, the atmosphere inspires trust, and the staff are always responsive. I thank the clinic for the high level of service and the warm approach!

Rhinoplasty

Marina Samarina

Everything was first-class: clean, cosy and calm. Booking and choosing the right date was easy. The nose operation went smoothly and the nerve block was done perfectly: now I breathe freely without nasal drops! It is a real lifesaver for anyone tired of endless prescriptions and ineffective procedures. I recommend it to everyone who values professionalism and results.

Rhinoplasty

Viktoria Petrova

I recently had rhinoplasty and I am absolutely delighted. At the consultation they told me about every stage in detail, so I went into surgery fully prepared. The operation went smoothly: they straightened the bridge of my nose and made the nostrils symmetrical, and the shape came out very neat. The swelling lasted a little longer than I expected, but they explained straight away that full recovery takes more time. No unpleasant surprises, everything was within the normal range. I recommend the clinic to anyone looking for a confident result and an attentive attitude.

Dry air, 57 % humidity and a nose that has to breathe again

Anyone who plans a nose operation in Murcia is planning it for a particular kind of air. The city has a hot semi-arid climate, with a mean relative humidity of 57 % over the year and only 281.9 mm of rain spread over 34 days with at least 1 mm. Rain is rare, and September, the wettest month, brings 37.6 mm. In practice this means the nose spends most of the year breathing dry air, not damp air. That is worth keeping in mind from the first online conversation, because rhinoplasty is not only about shape. For primary rhinoplasty, the aim named in the clinic's programme is shape and breathing, and the doctor will ask in detail how airflow feels on each side.

If you already notice that one nostril works worse than the other, say so when you send your photos on WhatsApp or Telegram. The programme includes rhinoseptoplasty, a combined operation that corrects the septum and changes the shape of the nose, and it is intended for a deviated septum. Whether you need the simpler operation or the combined one is decided at the consultation, after the doctor has assessed the anatomy of your nose and your wishes. A coordinator can answer questions around the clock, so you do not have to wait for an office to open to find out which photos are useful.

Dry air is a good reason to describe your everyday breathing honestly. Tell the doctor whether you wake with a dry throat, whether you breathe through your mouth when you exercise, and whether you have had a nasal injury. The suitable-cases list on the clinic's programme includes marked breathing problems, a deviated septum, nasal polyps and nose injury, and it names inflammation of the ears, throat, nose or eyes among the reasons why surgery is not suitable at that moment. If you have a cold or sinus inflammation when you write, mention it, because it affects the timing of the plan, not just the comfort of the recovery.

The climate statistics also explain why the winter months deserve a mention. January is the coldest month, with an average maximum of 17.2 °C and an average minimum of 5.3 °C. Snow is almost non-existent, at 0.1 days a year, so winter in Murcia means cool mornings and indoor heating, not a hard frost. Indoor heating is also dry, so it is sensible to ask the doctor during the consultation how to manage dry rooms while the nose is healing. The answer will be individual, which is why we do not offer a one-size-fits-all rule here.

Sunshine, glasses and the splint: planning around 3,077 hours of light

Murcia gets around 3,077 hours of sunshine a year. July alone has 366 hours and December still has 180. If your days are spent mostly outdoors, you will be thinking about sunglasses sooner than most. Glasses rest directly on the bridge of the nose, which is the area a rhinoplasty changes, so this is a real planning question and not a cosmetic detail. The clinic's programme gives no number of weeks for wearing glasses, and we will not invent one. The doctor will say when and how glasses may be worn after your operation, and you should ask that during the free consultation, since the answer depends on the technique chosen for your nose.

Heat is the other half of the sun question. July and August have average maximum temperatures of 34.3 and 34.5 °C, with minimums of 21.2 and 21.8 °C, and the recorded maximum is 46.2 °C in August. A nasal splint in a hot, bright month is something to think about in advance. It is easier to talk through shade, hats and the daily routine with a coordinator before the date is fixed than to improvise in the week of the operation. Patients who prefer a cooler season can say so at the start, and the date will be agreed with that preference in mind. Coordinators answer on WhatsApp and Telegram round the clock, so an evening question gets an evening reply.

The splint itself is the one part of recovery you can personalise. The clinic lets you choose its colour: purple, gold, green, light blue, pink, yellow, raspberry or carbon. It sounds like a small thing, but it matters to people who know they will be seen by colleagues, classmates or relatives during the first days. Choosing a colour is a way to feel that you are in control of how you look while the nose heals, and it is part of the plan agreed beforehand.

Another practical point is the 3D model. At the consultation the doctor builds a 3D model of the future shape from your photos and assessment, and you see a realistic forecast before you decide anything. The consultation is free and does not commit you to surgery. If strong light makes the profile look different on photos, send several pictures in even daylight, front, side and three-quarter, because the doctor works from what the images show, and sharp shadows can hide a hump or an asymmetry.

Fiestas, exams and the weeks when your face is on show

The Murcian calendar has fixed points that many patients use as a countdown. The Fiestas de Primavera take place in the week after Easter Sunday: the Bando de la Huerta on Tuesday and the Entierro de la Sardina on Saturday, both recognised as being of International Tourist Interest, and Semana Santa has the same status. The Feria de Septiembre fills the first half of September and is the busiest celebration in the city, while the festivals of the outlying districts cluster mainly in June and September. If you want your nose to look settled and relaxed at one of those moments, work backwards from the date instead of forward from the operation.

A simple example shows how. Suppose the operation takes place in November 2026. The programme schedules check-ups at 7 days, 3 months and 6 months, so the 3-month check-up falls in February 2027 and the 6-month check-up in May 2027, after the spring fiestas. If the date you care about is the Feria in September, there is plenty of room. If it is the week after Easter, say so on the first day, and the doctor will tell you honestly whether the timing is sensible. The clinic's own text says that recovery times are typical averages, and that your anatomy decides the real extent of correction and the real pace of healing. We therefore never promise that the nose will look a certain way on a certain day.

Murcia is also a university city. The Universidad de Murcia, whose origins go back to 1272, and the Universidad Católica San Antonio together have around 50,000 students. For a student or a young employee, the real calendar is the academic one: exam periods, presentations, practical sessions. Rhinoplasty is intended for adults, and the optimal age given in the clinic's materials is 18 to 45, with surgery under 18 listed among the contraindications. Younger adults often ask whether they can fit the operation between two busy periods. The answer is to plan the single day at the clinic and the first controlled days afterwards around a quiet stretch, and to ask the coordinator for help with that sequence.

If you are looking at a particular event, such as a wedding, a graduation or a family gathering, write it in your first message. The coordinator can lay out the steps in the right order: consultation and modelling, the tests, the date, the operation, the follow-up checks. There is no obligation to confirm anything until you have seen the plan, the price and the contract terms.

From a Murcia kitchen table to a day at the clinic: preparation step by step

Because the first consultation is online, the beginning of the process needs nothing more than a phone and a few photos. You send pictures on WhatsApp or Telegram, receive a free assessment from the doctor, and then confirm the plan and dates before anything is booked. The consultation is followed by the 3D modelling of the result. The price is named and then set in the contract, so there is nothing to negotiate on the day of the operation. The clinic's materials describe it as one day at the clinic, with general anaesthesia, and an operation that lasts between 1.5 and 3 hours depending on complexity.

Preparation begins 21 days before the operation. The doctor gives you a list of the required tests at the first appointment, and the clinic's list includes a complete blood count, biochemistry, a coagulation panel, a chest X-ray and an X-ray of the sinuses, as well as urinalysis and infection tests. Some of the results are only valid for a limited time, for example the blood count and the urinalysis for 2 weeks, so the order in which you do things matters. Ask your coordinator to write the sequence down as a short checklist, and book the laboratory slots in the right order so nothing expires before the operation date.

Murcia is the capital of its region and the seventh most populous municipality in Spain, with 471,982 inhabitants at the 2024 count, and 16.3 % of them were born outside Spain. For an international resident this is a practical matter. If your first language is not Spanish, say which language you prefer for the paperwork and the conversations, and the coordinator will arrange the contract of medical services and the explanation of each step accordingly. Take your time with the contract: it fixes the terms, the follow-up and the support, and it is better read twice than signed in a hurry.

The recovery programme is built around three check-ups, at 7 days, 3 months and 6 months. Consultations with the doctor stay free for a year afterwards, and the clinic describes coordinator support during the whole recovery period. The city's geography helps with ordinary logistics. Murcia lies at an altitude of 43 m on the Segura river in the middle of the huerta, with hills to the north and the Cordillera Sur to the south, and the Mediterranean is some 40 to 46 km away. A calm first week at home is realistic: you do not need to organise anything beyond rest, the splint, and your messages to the coordinator. If you bike around town with the public MuyBici system, which has existed since April 2015, ask the doctor when you may go back to it.

Public waiting lists and why many people ask about timing first

People in Murcia often compare private planning with what the public health system offers, so it helps to be exact. Under the common portfolio of services of the national health system, techniques whose purpose is mere aesthetic or cosmetic improvement are not financed, and procedures with an aesthetic aim that are unrelated to an accident, an illness or a congenital malformation are excluded from specialised care. That is a statement about the regulation, not about your nose. If the reason for your operation is purely a change of shape, it falls outside the public system. If you have a history of injury or a medical breathing problem, the situation can be different, and the right first step is to describe it to the doctor and ask what is medically relevant.

The waiting figures explain why some people look for a defined plan. At 31 December 2025, Plastic Surgery had the longest average wait among the specialties of the national system, 269 days. Across all specialties the average wait for surgery was 121 days, and 21.6 % of patients had waited more than 6 months. In the Región de Murcia, 34,197 patients were on the structural surgical waiting list, a rate of 21.52 per 1,000 inhabitants, with an average wait of 103 days. These numbers describe the public system in general and do not say how long any particular person would wait, so please do not read them as a forecast for your own case.

What you can do is compare the shape of the process. With the clinic, you know the sequence before you commit: a free online assessment, a 3D model, a quoted price fixed in the contract, a date, the tests, one day at the clinic and the checks afterwards. You also know what is included in the programme, such as the doctor's work, general anaesthesia, the modelling of the result, the inpatient stay, meals, dressings and follow-up visits, a personal coordinator and consumables. If the plan does not suit you, you can stop after the consultation and you have lost nothing.

One more point on honesty: rhinoplasty is not for everybody. The clinic's materials list contraindications, among them infectious diseases, cancer, blood clotting problems, decompensated chronic diseases, skin damage in the area of the operation and inflammation of the ears, throat, nose or eyes. If surgery is not needed in your case, the doctor will say so at the consultation and spare you an unnecessary expense. That is the reason to start with photos and a conversation and not with a date.

Does the dry climate of Murcia change how I should plan the weeks after rhinoplasty?

The climate is semi-arid, with a mean relative humidity of 57 % and about 281.9 mm of rain a year, so indoor and outdoor air are usually dry. The clinic's materials give no special rules for dry air, and we do not invent any. Ask the doctor during the free online consultation how to manage dry rooms, heating and sun while the nose heals, and the advice will be tailored to your technique.

Is it better to schedule the operation in winter or in summer in Murcia?

Both have points in their favour. January is the coldest month, with an average maximum of 17.2 °C and a minimum of 5.3 °C, while July and August average a maximum of 34.3 and 34.5 °C. A splint is easier to manage in cooler weather, but the right choice depends on your work, your events and your health. Tell the coordinator about your calendar and the doctor will confirm whether the date is sensible.

Can I time the operation so that my nose is settled for the Feria de Septiembre or the Fiestas de Primavera?

Yes, you can plan backwards from the date. The Feria takes place in the first half of September, and the Fiestas de Primavera in the week after Easter Sunday. The programme includes check-ups at 7 days, 3 months and 6 months, and the doctor will say whether your date is realistic, because healing depends on your anatomy. An operation in November 2026 would have its 6-month check-up in May 2027.

When can I wear sunglasses or ordinary glasses after the operation?

The clinic's materials do not give a fixed number of weeks, so the answer comes from the doctor. Glasses rest on the bridge of the nose, which rhinoplasty changes, so raise the question at the consultation. With around 3,077 hours of sunshine a year in Murcia, it is better to have a clear answer and a plan for shade before the date is confirmed.

I am a student at one of the universities in Murcia. Is rhinoplasty realistic around my exams?

It can be, provided you are at least 18, since surgery under that age is listed among the contraindications. The clinic's programme is one day at the clinic, an operation of 1.5 to 3 hours under general anaesthesia, and check-ups at 7 days, 3 and 6 months. Choose a quiet stretch of the academic calendar, send your exam dates to the coordinator, and the plan can be arranged around them.

Will the public health system cover a nose operation for purely aesthetic reasons?

No. The common portfolio of the national health system does not finance techniques whose purpose is mere aesthetic or cosmetic improvement, and aesthetic procedures unrelated to an accident, illness or congenital malformation are excluded from specialised care. If your breathing problem or an injury is the reason, describe it to the doctor during the consultation, and ask what is medically relevant to your case.

How far in advance should I start the tests if I live in Murcia?

Preparation begins 21 days before the operation. The doctor gives you the list of required tests at the first appointment, and some results, such as the blood count and the urinalysis, are valid for 2 weeks. Ask the coordinator for a written checklist with the order of the tests, so none of them expires before the date.

I was born outside Spain and prefer another language for the paperwork. Is that possible?

About 16.3 % of the residents of the municipality were born outside Spain, so this is a common request. Tell the coordinator on WhatsApp or Telegram which language you prefer for the contract and the explanations, and they can answer at any hour of the day or night. Read the contract of medical services carefully before you confirm anything.
