Isi Glück's breast augmentation: she told the whole story herself
Isi Glück, the German Ballermann singer and influencer, decided to publish her entire breast augmentation experience — the wish she had carried for a decade, the operation day, the pain, the recovery — so that others could learn from it. Here is what she reported, and what a breast augmentation involves today.

What did Isi Glück report about her breast augmentation?
Glück, known as a party singer on the German Ballermann scene and as an influencer, published her breast augmentation as a first-person report on myBody.de in June 2017. Her reason for going public: “Mit dem Ziel sehr vielen Gleichgesinnten zu helfen habe ich mich dazu entschieden meine OP-Erfahrung öffentlich zu teilen” — she decided to share her operation experience publicly to help many people in the same situation.

WhatsAppThe decision itself was anything but impulsive: “Ich habe den Entschluss nicht von heute auf morgen gefasst. Ich trage den Wunsch seit rund zehn Jahren mit mir herum” — she had carried the wish for about ten years.
She also set the goal in one sentence: “Meine neue Brust sollte zu meinem Körper passen und natürlich aussehen” — the new breast should fit her body and look natural. In 2017, in her late twenties, she went from cup 70A to 70C with round implants of 285 ml placed under the breast muscle through the inframammary fold. The operation was easier than she had feared: “Der Schmerz ließ sich eigentlich ganz gut aushalten und fühlte sich an wie ein sehr starker Muskelkater” — the pain felt like very strong sore muscles — and she slept through the first night without problems. Day one brought the first dressing change and a sports bra; by day two she no longer needed painkillers; she was back at her desk on day five. Her rules: two weeks sleeping on her back, no sport for twelve weeks — “fiel mir der Verzicht auf Sport am schwersten” — and no direct sun on the scars for six months.
Her verdict and her advice closed the report: “Ich bin sehr glücklich darüber, dass ich diesen Schritt gewagt habe” — she is very happy she took the step — and “Der Preis darf nicht das entscheidende Kriterium bei der Arztwahl sein” — price must not be the deciding criterion when choosing a doctor. The report names her surgeon, but clinic and doctor names are not repeated here: what matters is her experience, not an advertisement. What follows describes breast augmentation in general.
What her report teaches future patients
Three lines of her report are worth more than most advertising. First, the ten-year wish: a breast augmentation decided after a decade of carrying it around is a considered decision — the kind surgeons want to see, as opposed to a whim between two trends.

Second, the goal she stated — fit her body, look natural — is exactly how implant size and shape should be chosen: from the patient's anatomy, not from someone else's result.
Third, her sentence about price. Choosing the cheapest offer is the most reliable way to need a second operation, as other public cases — with rippling, implants that never settled, corrective surgery — have shown repeatedly. A corrective operation costs more than the saving that made the bargain attractive, and it is harder on the tissue.

How a breast augmentation is done today
A breast augmentation restores or adds volume with implants and can correct shape and asymmetry. Implant size, profile and shape are chosen with the surgeon based on anatomy and the result the patient wants. Implants differ in material (silicone looks most natural), shape (round or anatomical), surface and profile; the implant can be placed under or above the muscle, and incisions are set in hidden areas such as the inframammary fold, with scars fading over 6 to 12 months.
Breast augmentation with implants
- Main goal
- More volume, shape correction
- When it is considered
- Low volume, volume lost after pregnancy or weight loss, asymmetry
Breast lift with implants
- Main goal
- Volume plus lifted position
- When it is considered
- Volume loss together with marked skin laxity
Implant replacement
- Main goal
- Renewed volume, updated implants
- When it is considered
- Ageing implants, rupture, capsular contracture, a change of size
The right combination is chosen at the consultation, not from a report — even a detailed one like hers.
Who is a candidate and how to prepare
A candidate is an adult in stable health whose weight has settled. Contraindications include active infection, pregnancy and breastfeeding, severe heart or lung disease, blood clotting disorders and anything that rules out safe general anaesthesia. Patients who already have implants should tell the surgeon what was placed and when.
- Bring your medical history, including previous operations and the medicines you take; the surgeon decides which tests are needed.
- Stop certain medicines in time: aspirin-containing drugs and some hormonal medicines 1–2 weeks before surgery, oral contraceptives at least a month before.
- Plan the quiet weeks: as Glück's report shows, recovery needs sleep on the back, no sport for weeks and loose clothing — plan work and family around it.
What recovery looks like
The patient spends a day in the clinic after surgery. Moderate discomfort in the first days — Glück compared it to strong sore muscles — eases clearly within the first week, and many patients stop painkillers by day two or three. Most people go back to work without physical strain after 7–14 days. For three weeks there is no lifting over 3 kg and no raising the arms above shoulder level.
Compression garments or sports bras are worn for 4–6 weeks; swimming and fitness usually return then, strength training after about three months. Implants typically last 10–15 years, after which replacement or another correction is discussed. The timeline below shows the usual stages.

How recovery after breast augmentation usually goes
- Day of surgeryGeneral anaesthesia; one day in the inpatient ward under round-the-clock care.
- Days 1–7Sore-muscle-like discomfort, clearly easier within the first week; first dressing change and sports bra.
- Days 7–14Return to work without physical exertion.
- 3 weeksSwelling goes down; no lifting over 3 kg, arms below shoulder level.
- 4–6 weeksCompression garments are no longer needed; swimming and fitness.
- 3 monthsDiscomfort is gone and the tissue has settled; strength training is possible.
