What is liposuction
and who is it for?

In liposuction, the surgeon removes excess fat lying under the skin in problem areas. It won't replace diet and exercise, and it is not a weight-loss method. Its job is targeted contouring: removing saddlebags on the thighs, a loose belly and fat on the back, flanks, arms or chin.

Liposuction works for you if specific areas hold on to fat even though your weight is normal and you stay active. Fat cells removed from those areas don't grow back, so with a stable lifestyle the result stays for a long time.

Areas we treat

A single operation can treat several areas at once, saving recovery time and budget

Liposuction techniques at City Medical Centre

Tumescent (classic) liposuction

Into the treatment area goes a special saline-based solution with lidocaine, adrenaline and several other agents. It loosens fat tissue and narrows the vessels, keeping blood loss minimal and letting the fat be removed gently. The resulting emulsion is suctioned out through a thin cannula.

Swelling and bruising are close to none after the operation, and recovery is considerably easier than after a conventional procedure.

VASER liposuction (ultrasound)

Before the fat is vacuumed out, ultrasound breaks down the fat cells. This method is perfect for pronounced muscle definition — athletic abs — and body contouring.

It also suits delicate areas.

How the surgery goes: from consultation to result

Surgeon consultation

The doctor hears your wishes, examines and assesses the fat deposits and rules out contraindications. At City Medical Centre a hormonal screening is also ordered, which helps predict the long-term result.

Pre-operative tests

Pre-op tests: blood (complete count, coagulation panel, biochemistry, infections — HIV, hepatitis, syphilis), ECG, chest X-ray and, if needed, a GP consultation.

All tests can be done at the clinic with no waiting.

Preparation

2 weeks ahead: no medications that affect blood clotting. A week ahead: no alcohol or smoking, for quicker healing. 8 hours ahead: the last meal.

Surgery day

Areas are marked, compression garments fitted and you meet the surgeon. Whether anesthesia is local or general depends on the scope.
Time on the table: from 1 hour (small areas) to 3–4 hours (combined procedure).

Waking up and monitoring

If anesthesia is general, you stay in hospital for one day under observation. If it is local, you are discharged 3–4 hours after surgery.

Recovery

Compression garments stay on for 30–45 days. Once swelling subsides, first results are visible in 3–4 weeks. At 3 months, with the skin fully tightened, the final result is assessed.

Recovery after liposuction

After tumescent liposuction, recovery is much shorter than after a conventional procedure. Most patients return to work within 3–7 days. In the first week, mild swelling and a raised temperature are possible — a normal response to surgery. Compression garments are worn for 30–45 days: they fix the new contours and speed up tissue recovery. In the first month, bathhouse, sauna, pool and intense sport are off-limits. For the best result and faster recovery we recommend lymphatic drainage massage, pressotherapy and a gradual return to activity. First visible changes appear in 3–4 weeks, the final result at 3 months.

Liposuction: frequently asked questions

Choosing liposuction in Jabalpur

Liposuction is not only a women's procedure. The abdomen and flanks are the top request for both sexes, and in men the chest is a separate case: the fat component of gynecomastia or pseudogynecomastia can be removed surgically. VASER, with ultrasound breakdown of fat, helps define pronounced muscle relief. Men in Jabalpur can discuss which technique suits their goals at the consultation.

Recovery after tumescent liposuction is much shorter than after a conventional procedure. Most patients return to work within 3–7 days. Mild swelling and a raised temperature in the first week are a normal response. Compression garments are worn for 30–45 days to fix the new contours. For those in Jabalpur, lymphatic drainage massage and pressotherapy are recommended to speed things up.

What does the first step cost? Nothing: the plastic surgeon consultation is free. At it you learn whether liposuction suits you, which method fits your zones and what the final price will be, starting from $1,200. People in Jabalpur can fill in the short form or write in any messenger, and the coordinator will get back to you shortly to arrange a convenient time.
