What is liposuction
and who is it for?

Liposuction is surgery that takes excess subcutaneous fat out of problem zones. It does not make you lose weight and does not replace diet or exercise. What it does is targeted contouring — removing thigh saddlebags, a sagging belly and fat on the back, flanks, arms or chin.

It is suited to people whose specific zones retain fat in spite of normal weight and regular activity. What matters most: the fat cells removed do not grow back in treated areas, so a stable lifestyle keeps the result for years.

Liposuction techniques at City Medical Centre

Tumescent (classic) liposuction

It begins with injecting a special solution into the area: saline plus lidocaine, adrenaline and several other agents. The solution loosens fatty tissue and constricts vessels, so there is little blood loss and removal is gentle. After this, the fat emulsion is removed by vacuum through a thin cannula.

Recovery is much easier than after a conventional procedure, with almost no swelling or bruising after surgery.

VASER liposuction (ultrasound)

With this method, ultrasound breaks down fat cells prior to vacuum removal. It is ideal for body contouring and for defining pronounced muscle relief — athletic abs.

It also suits delicate areas.

How the surgery goes: from consultation to result

Surgeon consultation

The doctor listens to you, performs an examination, evaluates your fat deposits and checks for contraindications. City Medical Centre also orders hormonal screening — it helps to predict the long-term result.

Pre-operative tests

Pre-op tests: blood (complete count, coagulation panel, biochemistry, infections — HIV, hepatitis, syphilis), ECG, chest X-ray and, if needed, a GP consultation.

All tests can be done at the clinic with no waiting.

Preparation

Stop medications that affect blood clotting 2 weeks before. Quit alcohol and smoking a week before for faster healing. Eat your last meal 8 hours before.

Surgery day

Areas are marked, compression garments fitted and you meet the surgeon. Whether anesthesia is local or general depends on the scope.
Length of surgery: from 1 hour (small areas) to 3–4 hours (combined procedure).

Waking up and monitoring

With local anesthesia you are discharged 3–4 hours after surgery; with general anesthesia you stay one day in hospital under observation.

Recovery

You wear compression for 30–45 days. First results come in 3–4 weeks as the swelling fades; the final result is evaluated at 3 months after the skin fully tightens.

Recovery after liposuction

Unlike a conventional procedure, tumescent liposuction allows a much shorter recovery — most patients are at work again within 3–7 days. Some mild swelling and a raised temperature in the first week are possible; this is a normal response to surgery. You wear compression garments for 30–45 days so they fix the new contours and speed up tissue recovery. The first month rules out the bathhouse, sauna, pool and intense sport. We recommend lymphatic drainage massage, pressotherapy and a gradual return to activity for the best result and faster recovery. First changes become visible in 3–4 weeks, and the final result at 3 months.

Liposuction: frequently asked questions

Liposuction in Bhopal: what you should know

Some areas keep their fat no matter how active you are or how normal your weight is. That is exactly who liposuction in Bhopal is for: people with local deposits that resist training and diet, uneven fat distribution or disrupted body proportions. It also helps restore the silhouette after childbirth or sudden weight loss, and in men it removes the fat component of gynecomastia.

Some rules matter after surgery. For the first seven days, no physical exertion or heavy lifting. For 4–6 weeks wear compression garments and avoid the bathhouse, sauna, pool and active sport. Alcohol and tanning beds are off-limits for at least a month. Your surgeon gives individual advice, and people from Bhopal can stay in touch with the surgeon throughout recovery.

What does the first step cost? Nothing: the plastic surgeon consultation is free. At it you learn whether liposuction suits you, which method fits your zones and what the final price will be, starting from $1,200. People in Bhopal can fill in the short form or write in any messenger, and the coordinator will get back to you shortly to arrange a convenient time.
