What is liposuction
and who is it for?

Liposuction means surgical removal of excess subcutaneous fat from specific problem areas. It is not for losing weight and cannot stand in for diet and exercise. It is about targeted body contouring: saddlebags on the thighs, a sagging abdomen, fat deposits on the back, flanks, arms or chin.

Good candidates have a normal weight and an active lifestyle, yet certain zones keep their fat. The essential point is that fat cells removed from treated areas never grow back — keep your lifestyle steady and the result lasts long.

Liposuction techniques at City Medical Centre

Tumescent (classic) liposuction

First, a special solution based on saline with lidocaine, adrenaline and several other agents is injected into the treatment area. It loosens the fat tissue and constricts the vessels, minimizing blood loss and allowing gentle removal. The fat emulsion is then removed by vacuum through a thin cannula.

You get almost no swelling or bruising after surgery, and recovery is far easier than after a conventional one.

VASER liposuction (ultrasound)

Before vacuum removal, ultrasound breaks the fat cells down. This makes the method ideal for body contouring and for defining pronounced muscle relief, i.e. athletic abs.

It also suits delicate areas.

How the surgery goes: from consultation to result

Surgeon consultation

Your doctor listens to what you want, examines you, assesses fat deposits and rules out contraindications. City Medical Centre also orders a hormonal screening — it helps predict the long-term result.

Pre-operative tests

Blood tests (complete count, coagulation panel, biochemistry, infections — HIV, hepatitis, syphilis), ECG, chest X-ray and, if needed, a GP consultation.

All tests can be done at the clinic with no waiting.

Preparation

Stop medications that affect blood clotting 2 weeks before. Quit alcohol and smoking a week before for faster healing. Eat your last meal 8 hours before.

Surgery day

On the day you meet the surgeon, the areas are marked and compression garments fitted. Anesthesia — local or general, depending on the scope.
It takes from 1 hour (small areas) to 3–4 hours (combined procedure).

Waking up and monitoring

Hospital stay: one day under observation after general anesthesia, or discharge 3–4 hours after surgery with local anesthesia.

Recovery

Compression garments are needed for 30–45 days. In 3–4 weeks the swelling subsides and first results appear; the final result is assessed at 3 months with the skin fully tightened.

Recovery after liposuction

Most patients return to work within 3–7 days, as recovery after tumescent liposuction is much shorter than after a conventional procedure. In the first week, expect possible mild swelling and a raised temperature — the body's normal response to surgery. For 30–45 days you wear compression garments that fix the new contours and speed up recovery of the tissues. Skip the bathhouse, sauna, pool and intense sport for the first month. We advise lymphatic drainage massage, pressotherapy and returning to activity step by step for the best result and quicker recovery. First visible changes in 3–4 weeks, final result at 3 months.

Liposuction: frequently asked questions

Choosing liposuction in Nagpur

It is worth being clear about what the surgery does not do. Liposuction does not treat obesity and is not a way to lose kilos; if your weight is unstable, a nutritionist or endocrinologist comes first. Nor does it change the skin structure behind cellulite, although smoother contours make it less visible. What it does for people in Nagpur is remove local fat and reshape the silhouette.

Some rules matter after surgery. For the first seven days, no physical exertion or heavy lifting. For 4–6 weeks wear compression garments and avoid the bathhouse, sauna, pool and active sport. Alcohol and tanning beds are off-limits for at least a month. Your surgeon gives individual advice, and people from Nagpur can stay in touch with the surgeon throughout recovery.

If you are comparing liposuction prices in Nagpur, check what the figure depends on: the number of zones, their size and the chosen technique. Here the starting price is $1,200, the final sum is set after an examination and nothing hidden is added. Hormonal screening before surgery and surgeon support through recovery are part of the approach. Book a free consultation to get your plan.
