What is liposuction
and who is it for?

In liposuction, the surgeon removes excess fat lying under the skin in problem areas. It won't replace diet and exercise, and it is not a weight-loss method. Its job is targeted contouring: removing saddlebags on the thighs, a loose belly and fat on the back, flanks, arms or chin.

This operation is meant for people whose specific areas keep fat despite normal weight and an active life. The key point: removed fat cells do not grow back in the treated zones, so with a steady lifestyle the result is long-lasting.

Liposuction techniques at City Medical Centre

Tumescent (classic) liposuction

It begins with injecting a special solution into the area: saline plus lidocaine, adrenaline and several other agents. The solution loosens fatty tissue and constricts vessels, so there is little blood loss and removal is gentle. After this, the fat emulsion is removed by vacuum through a thin cannula.

Almost no swelling or bruising follows the surgery, and recovery is much lighter than after a conventional procedure.

VASER liposuction (ultrasound)

First ultrasound breaks down the fat cells, then they are removed by vacuum. The method is ideal for pronounced muscle relief, such as athletic abs, and body contouring.

It also suits delicate areas.

How the surgery goes: from consultation to result

Surgeon consultation

The doctor hears your wishes, examines and assesses the fat deposits and rules out contraindications. At City Medical Centre a hormonal screening is also ordered, which helps predict the long-term result.

Pre-operative tests

Blood tests covering complete count, coagulation, biochemistry and infections (HIV, hepatitis, syphilis), ECG, chest X-ray and a GP consultation when needed.

All tests can be done at the clinic with no waiting.

Preparation

2 weeks before, stop medicines that affect blood clotting. A week before, give up alcohol and smoking to heal faster. 8 hours before, have your last meal.

Surgery day

You see the surgeon, who marks the areas, and the compression garments are fitted. Anesthesia can be local or general depending on the scope.
Length of surgery: from 1 hour (small areas) to 3–4 hours (combined procedure).

Waking up and monitoring

Hospital stay: one day under observation after general anesthesia, or discharge 3–4 hours after surgery with local anesthesia.

Recovery

Compression garments are worn for 30–45 days. First results show in 3–4 weeks as swelling goes down. The final result is assessed at 3 months, once the skin has fully tightened.

Recovery after liposuction

Most patients return to work within 3–7 days, as recovery after tumescent liposuction is much shorter than after a conventional procedure. In the first week, expect possible mild swelling and a raised temperature — the body's normal response to surgery. For 30–45 days you wear compression garments that fix the new contours and speed up recovery of the tissues. Skip the bathhouse, sauna, pool and intense sport for the first month. We advise lymphatic drainage massage, pressotherapy and returning to activity step by step for the best result and quicker recovery. First visible changes in 3–4 weeks, final result at 3 months.

Liposuction: frequently asked questions

Liposuction in Prayagraj: from consultation to result

The aim is not a smaller number on the scales but a better shape. Liposuction targets saddlebags, back rolls, a belly that will not flatten and fat on the arms, chin or knees. For patients from Prayagraj, the result depends on one key fact: removed fat cells do not return, while the remaining ones can still grow with weight gain, so a balanced diet keeps the contour for the long term.

Here is the route in brief. Consultation and hormonal screening. Blood tests, ECG and chest X-ray at the clinic. Two weeks of preparation. Marking and compression garments on the day, then surgery under local or general anaesthesia. Observation, discharge, 30–45 days in compression and check-ups at 7 days and 3 months. Patients in Prayagraj follow this same sequence.

Liposuction starts from $1,200 for a single area, and the final figure is calculated individually after an examination. For patients from Prayagraj, the price is fixed in the contract with no hidden extras, and interest-free instalments are available. The first consultation with the surgeon is free: leave your name and phone number, and a coordinator will contact you to book it.
