What is liposuction
and who is it for?

Liposuction is a surgical method of removing excess subcutaneous fat from problem areas. It is not a way to lose weight or a substitute for diet and exercise. Its goal is targeted contouring: removing saddlebags on the thighs, a sagging belly, and fat deposits on the back, flanks, arms or chin.

It suits those who have a normal weight and an active life but still hold fat in specific areas. Importantly, fat cells taken from treated zones do not regrow, so a steady lifestyle keeps the result for a long time.

Liposuction techniques at City Medical Centre

Tumescent (classic) liposuction

First, a special saline-based solution with lidocaine, adrenaline and several other agents is injected into the area. It loosens fat tissue and constricts the vessels, keeping blood loss to a minimum and allowing gentle removal. The fat emulsion is then suctioned out through a thin cannula.

After the operation swelling and bruising are minimal, and recovery is far easier than after a standard procedure.

VASER liposuction (ultrasound)

With this method, ultrasound breaks down fat cells prior to vacuum removal. It is ideal for body contouring and for defining pronounced muscle relief — athletic abs.

It also suits delicate areas.

How the surgery goes: from consultation to result

Surgeon consultation

We listen to your wishes: the doctor examines you, assesses the fat deposits and rules out contraindications. At City Medical Centre there is also a hormonal screening that helps predict the long-term result.

Pre-operative tests

You will need blood tests (complete count, coagulation panel, biochemistry, HIV, hepatitis, syphilis), an ECG, a chest X-ray and, if necessary, a GP consultation.

All tests can be done at the clinic with no waiting.

Preparation

2 weeks before: stop medications that affect blood clotting. A week before: no alcohol and no smoking, so you heal faster. 8 hours before: your final meal.

Surgery day

Meeting the surgeon, marking the areas, fitting compression garments. Anesthesia is local or general depending on the scope.
Time on the table: from 1 hour (small areas) to 3–4 hours (combined procedure).

Waking up and monitoring

With general anesthesia — one day in hospital under observation. With local anesthesia — discharge 3–4 hours after surgery.

Recovery

Plan on 30–45 days of compression garments. Initial results show at 3–4 weeks as swelling subsides; at 3 months the skin has fully tightened and the final result is assessed.

Recovery after liposuction

Unlike a conventional procedure, tumescent liposuction allows a much shorter recovery — most patients are at work again within 3–7 days. Some mild swelling and a raised temperature in the first week are possible; this is a normal response to surgery. You wear compression garments for 30–45 days so they fix the new contours and speed up tissue recovery. The first month rules out the bathhouse, sauna, pool and intense sport. We recommend lymphatic drainage massage, pressotherapy and a gradual return to activity for the best result and faster recovery. First changes become visible in 3–4 weeks, and the final result at 3 months.

Liposuction: frequently asked questions

Everything about body contouring in Jajmau

Before any decision on liposuction in Jajmau, it helps to know how the clinic approaches it. An endocrinologist rules out hormonal causes of excess fat, which improves the long-term result. Surgery uses tumescent and VASER techniques and closed fat-harvesting systems with precise volume control. Liposuction can also be combined with other procedures, for example a tummy tuck for the abdomen.

Preparation follows a simple schedule. Two weeks before surgery, medications that affect blood clotting are stopped; a week before, alcohol and smoking are cut out for faster healing; the last meal is eight hours before the operation. On the day itself, the surgeon meets you, marks the areas and fits compression garments. This is the routine for everyone in Jajmau.

What does the first step cost? Nothing: the plastic surgeon consultation is free. At it you learn whether liposuction suits you, which method fits your zones and what the final price will be, starting from $1,200. People in Jajmau can fill in the short form or write in any messenger, and the coordinator will get back to you shortly to arrange a convenient time.
