What is liposuction
and who is it for?

As a surgical method, liposuction removes surplus fat beneath the skin in problem areas. Don't treat it as weight loss or as a substitute for diet and exercise: its purpose is targeted contouring, removing saddlebags on the thighs, a drooping belly and fat on the back, flanks, arms or chin.

It suits those who have a normal weight and an active life but still hold fat in specific areas. Importantly, fat cells taken from treated zones do not regrow, so a steady lifestyle keeps the result for a long time.

Liposuction techniques at City Medical Centre

Tumescent (classic) liposuction

Step one is injecting a special solution — saline with lidocaine, adrenaline and several other agents — into the treatment area. It loosens the fat and tightens the vessels, keeping blood loss minimal and removal gentle. Then the fat emulsion is removed through a thin cannula using vacuum.

Swelling and bruising after surgery are almost absent, and recovering is much easier than with a conventional procedure.

VASER liposuction (ultrasound)

Here fat cells are broken down with ultrasound before vacuum removal — an ideal method for defining pronounced muscle relief (athletic abs) and body contouring.

It also suits delicate areas.

How the surgery goes: from consultation to result

Surgeon consultation

At the visit the doctor listens to your goals, examines you, assesses the fat deposits and rules out contraindications. City Medical Centre adds a hormonal screening, which helps predict the long-term result.

Pre-operative tests

Blood tests (full blood count, coagulation panel, biochemistry, infections — HIV, hepatitis, syphilis), ECG, chest X-ray and a GP consultation if needed.

All tests can be done at the clinic with no waiting.

Preparation

Medications affecting blood clotting are stopped 2 weeks before. Alcohol and smoking are stopped a week before to speed healing. The last meal is 8 hours before surgery.

Surgery day

Meeting the surgeon, marking the areas, fitting compression garments. Anesthesia is local or general depending on the scope.
Duration ranges from 1 hour for small areas to 3–4 hours for a combined procedure.

Waking up and monitoring

One day of hospital observation with general anesthesia; with local anesthesia you leave 3–4 hours after surgery.

Recovery

The compression period is 30–45 days. First results emerge in 3–4 weeks, once swelling is down, and the final result is assessed at 3 months when the skin has fully tightened.

Recovery after liposuction

Tumescent liposuction has a much shorter recovery than a conventional procedure, and most patients return to work in 3–7 days. During the first week, mild swelling and a raised temperature can occur — this is a normal reaction to surgery. You wear compression garments for 30–45 days; they hold the new contours and help tissues recover faster. No bathhouse, sauna, pool or intense sport in the first month. We recommend lymphatic drainage massage, pressotherapy and gradually returning to activity for the best result and faster recovery. Visible changes start in 3–4 weeks, and the final result is seen at 3 months.

Liposuction: frequently asked questions

Choosing liposuction in Agra

Liposuction is minimally invasive: fat is removed through micro-incisions of just a few millimetres that usually need no stitches and become barely visible once healed. Before surgery the surgeon assesses skin tone and elasticity, because firm skin tightens on its own along the new contours. If you are considering liposuction in Agra with stretch marks or reduced tone, preparatory treatments may be recommended.

It starts with a surgeon consultation: the doctor listens to your wishes, assesses the fat deposits and rules out contraindications, and a hormonal screening is ordered to predict the long-term result. Patients from Agra then take pre-operative tests — blood count, coagulation panel, biochemistry, infection screening, ECG and chest X-ray — which can all be done at the clinic with no waiting.

How much is liposuction in Agra? Prices start at $1,200, depending on the zone and the scope of surgery. Treating several areas in one operation often saves both recovery time and budget. The exact cost is confirmed once the surgeon has examined you, and it is then fixed in the contract. Start with a free consultation by sending a request or messaging us.
