How it goes
A correction plan agreed with you, inpatient observation and a year of follow-up.
1Your figure is assessed, your wishes discussed, and the surgeon chooses the best volume, shape and correction method.
2We reserve a surgery date for you: the deposit can be paid by card at the clinic or online by bank transfer. The terms are fixed in the contract for medical services
3A complete pre-operative check-up comes first: blood tests, an ECG and the other examinations prescribed by your doctor.
4Mammoplasty is performed according to your individual plan. The surgery is done under general anesthesia while your condition is monitored throughout.
5Following surgery, you recover in a comfortable inpatient ward of the clinic with the medical team looking after you until discharge.
6After surgery you get a recovery programme. Check-ups at 7 days, 3 and 6 months help track your recovery. For a year after surgery, consultations with your surgeon are free.

Stop taking aspirin-containing drugs, steroids and hormonal medications for chronic conditions before surgery
Stop taking hormonal oral contraceptives at least one month prior to the procedure
Get your tests a week ahead of surgery
Ahead of surgery, take a few simple steps: balance work and rest, get more sleep, steer clear of stress, anxiety and strong emotions, and cut back on physical activity.
Refrain from intense gym training for up to 40 days and from very active aerobics; light cardio is possible after a month. Follow your diet and meals.
Post-operative swelling disappears in 3 weeks
After 3 months, discomfort disappears
Scars form in 3 weeks
Avoid physical exertion (lifting over 3 kg)
In 3 months any inflammatory changes in the tissue disappear, and a “pocket” forms around the implant
Post-correction recovery means wearing compression garments for 1–1.5 months
No raising arms above shoulder level — 3 weeks
For as long as three months, no baths, saunas or physiotherapy

FAQ
Several procedures fall under mammoplasty: augmentation (volume increase with implants), reduction (excision of extra tissue and skin), mastopexy (lift of sagging breasts), reconstruction (after mastectomy) and asymmetry correction. The right method is chosen for each patient according to her wishes and the surgeon's advice.
Message us — our coordinator will get back to you shortly and book your consultation. The plastic surgeon consultation is free.
As long as all recommendations are kept, complications are rare. Among the possible ones: hematoma or seroma, wound infection, reduced or increased nipple sensitivity, capsular contracture, aesthetic asymmetry, wound separation and tissue necrosis.
Mammoplasty results last a long time: about 10–15 years after augmentation (until implant replacement) and 5–10 years after a lift or reduction. Weight, pregnancy, skin aging and gravity affect how long it lasts. To maintain the result, wear supportive underwear and control your weight.
The ability to breastfeed after mammoplasty depends on the type of operation. With augmentation through an under-breast or armpit incision and a submuscular implant, lactation usually remains, because the glandular tissue is not harmed. After a lift or reduction the risk is greater, as ducts may be cut. Raise this with your surgeon ahead of time.
The choice of implant looks at material (silicone looks most natural, while saline is used less often), shape (round or anatomical teardrop), surface (smooth or textured), size and profile. The surgeon will choose what works best for your anatomy and wishes.
The patient feels nothing during surgery, which is performed under general anesthesia. Moderate discomfort in the first 1–3 days is possible and is treated with painkillers. By day 5–7 the pain is greatly reduced, and by weeks 2–3 no discomfort remains. With severe pain, contact your doctor immediately.
Work without physical exertion can be resumed after 7–14 days. Light walks after 1–2 weeks. Fitness and swimming after 4–6 weeks, strength training after 3 months. Pool and sea after 4–6 weeks. Compression garments are worn for 4–6 weeks. Exact timing depends on how you recover.
There is no scientific evidence that mammoplasty increases breast cancer risk. Implants do not cause cancer. After surgery, keep up regular screening — self-exams, mammography and ultrasound. Always tell the examining doctor about your implants.
Mammoplasty after a C-section is an option, though the body should recover fully beforehand. Wait at least 6–12 months after delivery and after you finish breastfeeding. You will need a surgeon's consultation and check-up before surgery.
There are scars after mammoplasty, though a skilled surgeon keeps them minimal. The incisions go in discreet areas, such as under the breast, around the areola or in the armpit. Early on the scars are reddish, but over 6–12 months they fade and are almost unnoticeable.
In the first weeks after surgery, slight asymmetry is normal: swelling and uneven healing are behind it. If shape or size still differ after 3–6 months, see your surgeon for a check-up to find the reason.
After mammoplasty, the breasts and nipples can temporarily lose or gain sensitivity. Irritation of the nerve endings is responsible. Most often sensitivity returns within 3–12 months. If there is no improvement a year later, see your surgeon.
There is no direct effect of hormonal drugs (contraceptives, hormone replacement therapy) on implants, but swelling or changes in breast tissue volume may occur and temporarily affect appearance. Let your surgeon know about these medications before surgery.

This operation suits adult women who wish to restore or increase breast volume, including after childbirth once the body has fully recovered. Surgeons advise waiting at least 6–12 months after giving birth and after breastfeeding ends. Patients from Thika considering it after a C-section can go ahead too, but a consultation and check-up are mandatory first.
Here is the route in brief. Consultation and choice of implants. Lab tests and instrumental examinations. Surgery lasting on average 1.5 to 3 hours. One day under round-the-clock observation. Then a recovery program with swelling control and compression garments, plus check-ups at one week, three months and half a year. Women in Thika follow this same sequence.
For patients from Thika, City Medical Centre offers breast augmentation at a fixed all-inclusive price from $4,700 (≈ KES 610,000). Included are the consultation with result modelling, combined inhalation anesthesia, a comfortable room after surgery, meals, constant staff monitoring and a year of dressings and check-ups. Implant removal is $3,300 (≈ KES 430,000). Getting started is simple: request a free consultation online.

I went to Dmitry Sergeyevich for breast augmentation with implants. At the consultation everything was explained in detail, and together we chose the best size. The operation under combined anaesthesia took 2 hours, and I was discharged home the next day. The swelling went down in about a month, and my breasts look very natural. The year of follow-up care is a real lifesaver: you can always ask a question and get an answer. Thank you to the clinic!

Thika is an industrial town and commerce hub in Kiambu County, northeast of Nairobi, near the confluence of the Thika and Chania Rivers. The 2019 National Census recorded a population of 279,429, and the town is growing rapidly. In a city of this size, many women think about breast augmentation, and many want to learn calmly and privately what the operation involves before they decide anything.
City Medical Centre works with patients from Thika through a free online consultation. You do not need to arrange time off for a first conversation. Coordinators are available around the clock (24/7) on Telegram and Telegram. You can write after a shift, in the evening or at the weekend, send your questions and photographs, and get a reply from a person who knows the procedure.
This text is written for Thika specifically: its climate, its working rhythm and the questions women here usually raise. It describes how to plan the operation, how recovery fits into daily life in a town on a gentle plain below the central highlands, and what to ask your surgeon. It does not replace an individual assessment, which only a surgeon can give after reviewing your health and your goals.
Breast augmentation is considered for adult women in good general health who want a larger or fuller breast volume, or who want to restore volume after pregnancy and breastfeeding. A suitable candidate has realistic expectations, understands that the result is a visible improvement rather than an exact copy of a photograph, and is ready to follow the recovery rules.
Some situations call for postponing surgery or for additional examination: an untreated illness, an active infection, unstable weight, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and serious chronic conditions that make general anaesthesia unsafe. Your surgeon will go through your history in detail. For a busy resident of a commercial town like Thika, it helps to prepare a short list of your medications, past operations and allergies before the online consultation, so that nothing is forgotten.
Weight deserves a separate word. Large weight changes alter breast shape and can shorten the lifespan of a result. The World Health Organization publishes general information on overweight and obesity, a useful reminder that stable, healthy weight supports any planned surgery. Your surgeon may ask you to reach a steadier weight first, and that is a sign of careful planning, not a refusal.
The first step is a message to the coordinators on Telegram or Telegram. You describe what you would like to change, your age, height and weight, any previous surgery and any health conditions. You may add photographs as requested. The coordinators pass your information to the medical team and arrange an online conversation with a surgeon at a moment that suits you. A coordinator will call you back 24/7, so a late-evening request does not wait for the next working day.
During the video consultation the surgeon looks at your breast shape, skin quality and proportions, discusses implant options in general terms, explains where the incisions can be placed, and outlines the plan. The plan lists general anaesthesia and a hospital stay of 1–2 days, and you hear what to expect at each stage. This is also the moment to ask about scars, sensitivity, feeding plans and long-term care.
Many women in Thika prefer to talk it over with a husband, a sister or a close friend. Nothing prevents you from having the consultation at home with someone beside you, or from asking for a second conversation after you have thought it over. Your time matters to us: we work 24/7, booking is easy, and our personal approach adapts to your pace.
Thika has a subtropical highland climate with sunshine most of the year and an average annual temperature of 19.8 °C. The town lies at an elevation of about 1,631 metres, so the weather is mild compared with lowland cities. For a woman recovering from breast augmentation, that is a practical advantage: you are not forced to spend the first weeks in extreme heat, and a compression garment is easier to wear in moderate temperatures.
The hottest period is March and April, leading into the long rains, and the coolest month is July. If you choose the warmer weeks, plan for lightweight, breathable clothing worn over the garment, shade when you go outside, and plenty of fluids. Sweat and friction under a garment can irritate the skin, so keep a spare garment and wash them as your surgeon instructs. Strong sun on fresh scars is best avoided, and a loose shirt that covers the chest is a simple solution during walks.
In the cooler weeks around July the concern is different: avoid reaching for high shelves or pulling on tight jackets, because the rule of no lifting arms above shoulder height lasts 3 weeks. Choose front-opening or loose tops that you can put on without raising your arms. Whatever the month, the condition of your wounds, not the weather, decides when you can resume activity, and your surgeon sets the pace.
Thika has a long rains season from March or April to May or June, and a short rains season from October to November or December. Rain affects recovery mostly through convenience. Wet roads and crowded transport make early outings tiring, and you should avoid being pushed or jostled in the first weeks. If you plan the operation during the rains, ask a family member to help with errands and school pick-ups so that you do not carry heavy bags or umbrellas.
The drier stretches between the rain seasons suit longer walks, which are useful because light walks are allowed after 1–2 weeks. Walking improves circulation and helps you feel better, but it should stay gentle. Dust on dry days can irritate the skin around dressings, so keep the area clean and follow the wound care instructions you receive.
There is no single ideal month for everyone. The right time is when you can rest for the first days, when your household can manage without you, and when you are not under pressure from a major deadline at work or at school. Discuss your calendar with the coordinator, who can help you match the operation date to the practical side of your life in Thika.
Thika has the largest economy in Kiambu County, and its industrial and commercial character means that many women work in offices, shops, factories, schools and their own small businesses. Return to work is one of the first questions asked. According to the medical plan, you may go back to work, with no physical exertion, after 7–14 days. The range depends on your recovery and on the nature of your job.
If you sit at a desk, deal with customers or teach, an earlier return within that range may be realistic, provided you can avoid lifting and sudden movements. If your work involves carrying boxes, operating machinery or standing for long periods, tell your surgeon in advance so that you can agree on a plan with your employer. No heavy exertion is allowed, meaning no lifting of more than 3 kg, and a full bag or a child on your hip can exceed that.
Students should consider the exam timetable. Swelling after surgery goes away after 3 weeks, and in the first days you may feel moderate discomfort, so avoid scheduling surgery right before an important assessment. Women who run a shop or a stall can plan a short period when a relative or an employee takes over lifting and stocking. A clear plan made with the surgeon removes most of the stress.
Thika is known for Chania Falls and for Fourteen Falls on the River Athi, and Ol Donyo Sabuk National Park lies to the southeast. The area encourages walking and time in nature, and many residents would like to return to that routine soon after surgery. Light walks are possible after 1–2 weeks, but hiking over uneven ground, climbing near water and carrying a heavy backpack should wait until your surgeon allows them.
For sport the guidance is specific. For as long as 40 days, stay away from intense gym workouts and overly active aerobics; light cardio is possible after a month. Fitness and swimming are allowed after 4–6 weeks, and pool and sea after 4–6 weeks as well. Strength training is allowed after 3 months. Timing depends on your recovery, so treat these numbers as the framework and let your surgeon confirm each step.
The same attention applies to golf and other recreation. The greater Thika area includes neighbourhoods such as Thika Greens and Thika Sports Golf Club, and women who play golf should remember that a swing involves the chest and shoulders. Do not return to it until your surgeon says it is safe. Rivers and falls are lovely for a visit once the rules on water and activity allow it, but do not swim in natural water while your wounds are still healing.
Compression garments are part of the recovery programme. Compression garments stay on for 4–6 weeks, and after a correction recovery involves 1–1.5 months of compression garments. Your surgeon will tell you which applies to your case. Choose a garment that fits properly, get a second one so you can wash and wear them in rotation, and avoid anything that digs into the skin.
Swelling after surgery goes away after 3 weeks. Discomfort fades after 3 months. In 3 months any inflammatory changes in the tissue disappear, and a pocket forms around the implant. In the first weeks slight asymmetry is normal, because swelling and uneven healing are behind it. If shape or size still differ after 3–6 months, see your surgeon for a check-up to find the reason.
General anaesthesia is used for the surgery itself, so there is no sensation. In the first 1–3 days you may feel moderate discomfort, which painkillers relieve. Pain subsides significantly by day 5–7 and discomfort is gone by weeks 2–3. If pain becomes severe, inform your doctor right away. In Thika's mild climate, sleeping comfortably is usually easier than in a hot city, but pillows and sleeping on your back still help. Eat balanced meals, monitor your diet and keep your weight steady, since this supports healing and the long-term shape.
There are scars after mammoplasty, though a skilled surgeon keeps them minimal. The incisions go in discreet areas, such as under the breast, around the areola or in the armpit. Early on the scars are reddish, but over 6–12 months they fade and are almost unnoticeable. Protect them from strong sun, a real consideration in a town with sunshine most of the year, and follow your surgeon's advice on scar care.
Breast and nipple sensitivity may change for a time, going down or up. The cause lies in irritation of nerve endings. In the majority of cases sensitivity is restored within 3–12 months. If nothing has improved after a year, consult your surgeon. Knowing this in advance means a temporary change does not cause alarm.
Results after mammoplasty last a long while: about 10–15 years for augmentation, until implant replacement. Weight changes, pregnancy, skin aging and gravity affect their duration. To maintain the result, choose supportive underwear and control your weight. A woman who plans a pregnancy in the near future should raise it during the consultation, because it influences timing and the choice of technique.
Thika has two explanations for its name. One traces it to the Kikuyu word Guthika, meaning 'to bury', and the other to the Maasai word Sika. The area was also home to the Akamba, which made it a border region between three communities. A town that grew from several peoples tends to have families in which several generations live close together, and many women here make decisions about their body with a mother, an aunt or a sister in mind. If you want to involve a relative, invite her to the video consultation so that she hears the same explanation you do.
Thika received town status by government gazette in 1924, became a municipality when Kenya gained independence in 1963, and chose its first mayor in 1968. A pillar monument in the central business district marks the founding of the town. A woman who works in the centre can plan her first days of recovery around a quiet home routine rather than errands in town, because the first weeks are not the time for crowds near the central business district. Ask a relative to handle shopping and bank visits.
Thika has historical places such as Mugumo Gardens, named after the giant fig tree where the seer Mugo wa Kibiro prophesied. It is the kind of place residents like to visit with family. Once light walks are allowed after 1–2 weeks, a short stroll on level paths in a garden is a sensible goal, while long outings on uneven ground can wait.
The same applies to a visit to the mound near Blue Posts Hotel or to monuments in the centre. Treat these as a reward for reaching the milestones of your recovery, not as an early target. Do not lift your arms above shoulder height for 3 weeks, so leave photography with a raised camera or phone to a companion at first.
Thika's economy rests on agricultural processing, including pineapple and coffee, together with cooking oils, animal feed, textiles, bakeries, packaging and motor vehicle assembly. About 100 small-scale industries and about 50 major factories exist in and around the town. Many women work on production lines, in packing halls or in the offices of these firms, so questions about lifting come up often.
The rule is clear: no heavy exertion, meaning no lifting of more than 3 kg, and you may go back to work, with no physical exertion, after 7–14 days. If your task involves packing, loading or repeated arm movements above the shoulder, ask your employer about lighter duties for the first weeks. A short note from your surgeon after the consultation can help the supervisor understand why. Women running a bakery counter or a small shop can arrange for a colleague to carry trays and sacks.
Thika is home or close to three universities and tens of middle-level colleges, including Mount Kenya University, Gretsa University and the Thika Institute of Science and Technology. Campus goers also flock to Thika and nearby Juja for weekend fun, and the town has a lively nightlife. For students and young staff, the practical advice is to schedule surgery away from exam weeks and big weekend plans.
Swelling after surgery goes away after 3 weeks, and for as long as 40 days intense gym workouts and overly active aerobics are not allowed. Crowded clubs and dancing are best postponed until you feel comfortable and your surgeon agrees, because jostling can hurt healing breasts. Choose quiet evenings with friends at first.
Thika is served by an eight-lane superhighway toward Nairobi and by a highway toward Garissa, and its internal road network is well maintained. Because your consultations and follow-up happen online, you can keep to your home routine. Still, long periods in a matatu or a car in the early weeks mean jolts and seat belt pressure on the chest, so ask for a seat with space, support the chest gently with a pillow, and avoid busy travel hours.
Thika sits near the meeting point of the Thika and Chania Rivers, with Chania Falls and Fourteen Falls nearby. Pool and sea are allowed after 4–6 weeks, but wait for your surgeon's approval before bathing in rivers or pools near the falls while any wound is still healing.
Prepare your questions before the video consultation. Useful ones include: Am I a suitable candidate given my health and weight? Where will the incisions be placed and what will the scars look like? What anaesthesia is used and how long is the stay? When can I return to work, and which tasks should I avoid? How long should I wear the compression garment? When can I exercise, swim and lift my children? What should I do if something looks wrong at home?
Support continues after the operation. After surgery you get a recovery programme. Check-ups at 7 days, 3 and 6 months help track your recovery. For a year after surgery, consultations with your surgeon are free. Follow-up support lasts to 12 months, and there is 24/7 monitoring by medical staff, so you are not left alone with a worry at night.
Because you live in Thika and the contact is remote, keep your coordinator's messages in one chat, photograph your progress as advised and send it when asked. Write down concerns as they arise rather than waiting. A clear, regular exchange makes follow-up effective and lets the team respond early if healing needs attention.
Yes. The consultation is online and free. Write to the coordinators on Telegram or Telegram, who are available around the clock (24/7), send the information they ask for, and arrange a video conversation with a surgeon at a time that suits you.
General anaesthesia is used for the surgery itself, so there is no sensation during the operation. The plan lists a stay of 1–2 days, and your surgeon will confirm what applies to your case.
You may go back to work, with no physical exertion, after 7–14 days. Office and desk work usually allows an earlier return within this range, while physical jobs need a longer break. Your recovery decides the exact timing.
For as long as 40 days, stay away from intense gym workouts and overly active aerobics; light cardio is possible after a month. Fitness and swimming are allowed after 4–6 weeks, pool and sea after 4–6 weeks, and strength training after 3 months.
Compression garments stay on for 4–6 weeks. After a correction, recovery involves 1–1.5 months of compression garments. Your surgeon will specify the period for you.
Avoid heavy exertion, meaning lifting more than 3 kg, and do not lift your arms above shoulder height for 3 weeks. Light walks are possible after 1–2 weeks.
There are scars, though a skilled surgeon keeps them minimal. Incisions go under the breast, around the areola or in the armpit. Early on they are reddish, but over 6–12 months they fade and are almost unnoticeable. Protect them from strong sun.
About 10–15 years for augmentation, until implant replacement. Weight changes, pregnancy, skin aging and gravity affect the duration. Supportive underwear and steady weight help maintain the result.
It is possible, but only once your body has fully recovered. Allow at least 6–12 months after giving birth and after breastfeeding stops. A consultation and check-up with a surgeon are required before surgery.
After surgery you get a recovery programme, with check-ups at 7 days, 3 and 6 months. For a year after surgery, consultations with your surgeon are free, follow-up support lasts 12 months, and medical staff provide 24/7 monitoring.
It is common and welcome. You can hold the video call at home with your mother, sister or husband beside you, and ask the surgeon to explain the plan to everyone present.
Explain that you may return after 7–14 days without physical exertion and that lifting more than 3 kg is not allowed. Ask for lighter duties, and request a note from your surgeon if the employer needs it.
Wait. For as long as 40 days intense gym workouts and overly active aerobics are not allowed, and crowds risk knocks to the chest. Return to dancing only when your surgeon agrees.
Light walks come after 1–2 weeks, but uneven ground and water should wait. Pool and sea are allowed after 4–6 weeks, and your surgeon confirms when outings to the falls are suitable.
