How it works
An agreed plan for correction, hospital observation and a year of recovery monitoring.
1The surgeon assesses your figure, discusses your wishes and chooses the best volume, shape and correction method.
2We hold a surgery date for you. You can pay the deposit by card at the clinic or online by bank transfer; all terms are set out in the contract for medical services
3Before the operation you take a full set of tests: blood tests, an ECG and any other examinations the doctor prescribes.
4Your surgeon carries out the mammoplasty following your personal plan, under general anesthesia and with constant monitoring of your condition.
5Once the operation is over, you stay in the clinic's comfortable ward under the medical team's supervision until discharge.
6You get a personal recovery programme after the operation. Follow-up visits at 7 days, 3 and 6 months monitor healing; for a year, surgeon consultations are free of charge.

Prior to surgery, cease taking aspirin-containing medicines, steroids and hormonal drugs for chronic illness
Oral contraceptives with hormones should be discontinued at least a month beforehand
Complete your tests a week before the surgery
Follow a few simple rules before surgery: balance work and rest sensibly, sleep more, avoid stress, anxiety and strong emotions, and scale back physical activity.
Intense gym workouts should be avoided for up to 40 days, along with overly active aerobics; after a month light cardio may be possible. Watch your diet.
After 3 weeks, post-op swelling disappears
Discomfort goes away after 3 months
Scars take shape within 3 weeks
No strenuous activity (lifting over 3 kg)
Within 3 months, the tissue is free of inflammatory changes and a “pocket” surrounds the implant
After the correction, recovery involves 1–1.5 months of compression garments
Avoid raising arms above shoulder level — 3 weeks
Skip baths and saunas for up to three months and avoid physiotherapy

FAQ
Mammoplasty refers to several procedures: augmentation (adding volume through implants), reduction (cutting away excess tissue and skin), mastopexy (lifting sagging breasts), reconstruction (after mastectomy) and asymmetry correction. The best technique is picked individually, based on what you want and what the surgeon advises.
Message us — our coordinator will get back to you shortly and book your consultation. The plastic surgeon consultation is free.
Following all recommendations makes complications rare. Still, they may involve hematoma or seroma, infection of the wound, decreased or increased nipple sensitivity, capsular contracture, aesthetic asymmetry, wound separation and tissue necrosis.
The effect of mammoplasty lasts for years: about 10–15 years after augmentation (until the implants are replaced) and 5–10 years after a lift or reduction. Duration depends on weight, pregnancy, skin aging and gravity. Supportive underwear and a stable weight help the result last.
Breastfeeding after mammoplasty depends on the procedure. Augmentation through an under-breast or armpit incision with a submuscular implant usually keeps lactation intact, since glandular tissue is not damaged. With a lift or reduction the risk is higher, because ducts may be cut. Be sure to discuss this with your surgeon in advance.
In choosing implants, the surgeon considers material (silicone looks most natural, saline is less common), shape (round or anatomical teardrop), surface (smooth or textured), size and profile, and selects the best option for your anatomy and wishes.
General anesthesia is used for the surgery itself, so there is no sensation. In the first 1–3 days you may feel moderate discomfort, which painkillers relieve. Pain subsides significantly by day 5–7 and discomfort is gone by weeks 2–3. If pain becomes severe, inform your doctor right away.
A return to work (no physical exertion) is possible after 7–14 days. Easy walks from 1–2 weeks. Fitness and swimming from 4–6 weeks; strength training from 3 months. Pool and sea from 4–6 weeks. Compression garments for 4–6 weeks. Precise timing depends on your individual recovery.
No scientific evidence shows that mammoplasty raises the risk of breast cancer, and implants do not cause cancer. After surgery, continue regular screening with self-exams, mammography and ultrasound, and always tell the examining doctor that you have implants.
Mammoplasty after a C-section is an option, though the body should recover fully beforehand. Wait at least 6–12 months after delivery and after you finish breastfeeding. You will need a surgeon's consultation and check-up before surgery.
Yes, mammoplasty leaves scars, but they are minimal when the surgeon is skilled. The incisions are made in concealed areas, under the breast, around the areola or in the armpit. For the first months scars are reddish, then within 6–12 months they fade and become barely visible.
Mild asymmetry in the first weeks after surgery is normal and results from swelling and uneven healing. If a difference in shape or size remains after 3–6 months, see your surgeon for an examination to identify the cause.
Breast and nipple sensitivity may change for a time after mammoplasty, going down or up. The cause lies in irritation of nerve endings. In the majority of cases sensitivity is restored within 3–12 months. If nothing has improved after a year, consult your surgeon.
Hormonal drugs (contraceptives, hormone replacement therapy) have no direct effect on implants, but they can cause swelling or changes in breast tissue volume that temporarily alter appearance. Always tell your surgeon about such medications before surgery.

Augmentation mammoplasty is an elective aesthetic operation carried out under general anesthesia. It is chosen by women in Cape Coast who want more volume or a corrected contour. Anatomical precision matters here: the plastic surgeon marks the new breast position, plans the access around your anatomy and fits an implant that respects your proportions, keeping the look natural rather than artificial.
For anyone in Cape Coast planning augmentation, preparation starts weeks ahead. Aspirin-containing drugs, steroids and some hormonal medications are stopped 1–2 weeks before; oral contraceptives, at least a month before. Tests are taken a week prior. After the operation you remain in hospital for one day, then follow a recovery program focused on reducing swelling and caring for the breasts.
Pricing is transparent: from $4,700 (≈ GHS 55,000) for augmentation, the same for breast reduction or a lift without implants, and $5,400 (≈ GHS 63,000) for a combined lift with implants. Reconstruction is priced on request. For people from Cape Coast, the plastic surgeon consultation is free, and in-house instalments make planning easier. Leave a request to get your personal correction plan.

I went to Dmitry Sergeyevich for breast augmentation with implants. At the consultation everything was explained in detail, and together we chose the best size. The operation under combined anaesthesia took 2 hours, and I was discharged home the next day. The swelling went down in about a month, and my breasts look very natural. The year of follow-up care is a real lifesaver: you can always ask a question and get an answer. Thank you to the clinic!

The result exceeded all my expectations: my breasts are lifted and the shape is youthful and firm. The incisions are minimal and almost invisible. I spent one day in the hospital, and the room was very comfortable. I recommend him!

Cape Coast is the capital of the Central Region of Ghana and one of the most historically significant settlements in the country. It sits about 130 km from Accra and about 61.8 km from Sekondi-Takoradi. As of the 2010 census the city had 108,374 residents, and that figure grew to 189,925 by 2021. Many women here combine study, work, church life and family duties, so a decision about breast augmentation is usually made carefully and with the people close to them in mind.
This text is written for women who live in Cape Coast and want to understand the operation before speaking to a surgeon. Breast augmentation uses implants to increase breast volume and improve shape. It is a planned operation, not an urgent one, so you have time to compare options, ask questions and choose a moment in the year that suits your life.
You do not need to leave your home city to start. The first conversation is a free online consultation. Coordinators of City Medical Centre are available around the clock (24/7) on Telegram and Telegram, so you can write in the evening after lectures or after a shift and receive an answer without rearranging your day. A coordinator will call you back 24/7, which suits a city where daily rhythms differ so much between students, traders, teachers and hospitality staff.
Cape Coast has a tropical savanna climate with average temperatures of around 24 to 32 °C and relative humidity between 60% and 80%. Warm, humid air matters after breast surgery. Sweat under a compression garment can irritate the skin, so choose soft, breathable fabric, keep the garment clean and ask your surgeon how often to change it and how to wash it.
After the correction, recovery involves 1–1.5 months of compression garments. Elsewhere the programme states that they stay on for 4–6 weeks. The exact period depends on how you heal, and your surgeon will confirm it. In Cape Coast's heat it helps to rest in a shaded, ventilated room, wear loose cotton clothing over the garment and drink enough water.
Swelling after surgery goes away after 3 weeks. Heat and long hours on your feet can make swelling feel more noticeable, so plan your first weeks around rest. Avoid standing for long stretches in direct sun and avoid crowded, hot places while your body is healing. Keep incisions dry and protected, and follow the wound care instructions you receive.
The city has two rainy seasons, peaking in May to June and in October, and a dry period with harmattan between November and February. No season is perfect, but each one affects recovery differently, and it is worth thinking about this when you pick a date.
The rainy months bring humidity and sometimes disrupted movement around town. Congestion is already present in Cape Coast, and most residents do not own a car, relying on taxis and minibuses. Short trips by shared transport mean crowding, and you should avoid being jostled in the first weeks. If you choose a rainy month, arrange a private ride or have someone accompany you to check-ups.
The harmattan period is drier, and dust and dry air can irritate the skin and throat. Keep your room clean, protect the healing area from dust and moisturise your skin as your surgeon advises. A calmer period around university holidays or between busy work cycles is often the easiest time to rest, because you can be at home without pressure.
General anaesthesia is used for the surgery itself, so there is no sensation during the operation. The medical information for this procedure lists a stay of 1 day in some cases and 1–2 days in others, depending on how you feel and what your surgeon decides. There is 24/7 monitoring by medical staff.
In the first 1–3 days you may feel moderate discomfort, which painkillers relieve. Pain subsides significantly by day 5–7 and discomfort is gone by weeks 2–3. If pain becomes severe, inform your doctor right away. Do not wait for it to pass on its own.
Think ahead about who will help you at home. Family networks in Cape Coast are often close, and a sister, mother or friend can help with meals, laundry and children during the early days. Tell them in advance what you cannot do, because lifting and reaching are limited for a while.
You may go back to work (with no physical exertion) after 7–14 days, and you can take light walks after 1–2 weeks. Students at the University of Cape Coast or Cape Coast Technical University can often plan the operation around a break, and a desk-based job is easier to resume than work that involves carrying loads.
If you work in tourism, which dominates the city's economy, with Cape Coast Castle, Kakum National Park and the PANAFEST festival drawing visitors, your role may involve long hours on your feet, carrying trays or guiding groups in the sun. Talk to your employer about lighter duties. Trading in a market such as Kotokuraba also involves lifting stock, so arrange help for the first weeks.
There are practical limits. No heavy exertion (lifting more than 3 kg) and no lifting arms above shoulder height for 3 weeks. That includes shelves, buckets of water and children. Plan the household so that these tasks are done by someone else.
Cape Coast is a coastal city, and football is part of local life, with the Cape Coast Sports Stadium and clubs such as the Ebusua Dwarfs. If you play, jog or attend fitness classes, the rules are clear. For as long as 40 days, stay away from intense gym workouts and overly active aerobics; light cardio is possible after a month. Monitor your diet and meals.
Fitness and swimming come after 4–6 weeks, and the pool and sea are also allowed after 4–6 weeks. Strength training is allowed after 3 months. Timing depends on your recovery, so ask your surgeon before you return to the beach or the gym.
Even after that, protect healing scars from strong sun. Wear a cover-up and ask which scar care products are suitable for your skin. Do not rush back into the water simply because the weather is inviting.
In 3 months any inflammatory changes in the tissue disappear, and a pocket forms around the implant. Discomfort fades after 3 months. In the first weeks slight asymmetry is normal, because swelling and uneven healing are behind it. If shape or size still differ after 3–6 months, see your surgeon for a check-up to find the reason.
There are scars after mammoplasty, though a skilled surgeon keeps them minimal. The incisions go in discreet areas, such as under the breast, around the areola or in the armpit. Early on the scars are reddish, but over 6–12 months they fade and are almost unnoticeable. In a warm climate, sun protection for the scars is a sensible habit.
Breast and nipple sensitivity may change for a time, going down or up, because of irritation of nerve endings. In the majority of cases sensitivity is restored within 3–12 months. If nothing has improved after a year, consult your surgeon.
Augmentation suits adult women who want more volume or better proportions and who are in good general health. Your surgeon will review your medical history, medicines and expectations. Contraindications in general terms include serious uncontrolled illness, active infection and pregnancy or breastfeeding, so a full check-up comes first.
Mammoplasty after a C-section is possible, but only once your body has fully recovered. Allow at least 6–12 months after giving birth and after breastfeeding stops. A consultation and check-up with a surgeon are required before surgery. This is a frequent question from young mothers.
Results after mammoplasty last a long while: about 10–15 years for augmentation (until implant replacement) and 5–10 years for a lift or reduction. Weight changes, pregnancy, skin aging and gravity affect their duration. To maintain the result, choose supportive underwear and control your weight. The WHO publishes general information on overweight and obesity, which is a useful reminder that stable weight supports any surgical result.
The traditional name of the city is Oguaa, from the Guan Awutu word Gua, meaning market. Another traditional name, Koto-Kuraba, means crab-hamlet and survives in the name of the best-known market. The early Portuguese navigators called the settlement Cabo Corso, the short cape, and the British later turned this into Cape Coast. A city that has carried so many names knows what it means to change while staying itself, and that is a useful way to think about a planned operation: you remain the same person, with a change that you have chosen and prepared for.
Oguaa began as a market that grew into an active commercial centre. Trade is still in the character of the place, and women here are used to weighing a decision carefully, asking the people around them and comparing what they hear. Use the same habit with breast augmentation. Write your questions in a notebook, send them to a coordinator on Telegram or Telegram, and take the answers to your family before you fix a date.
The Fante are the majority in the city, and Fante is the language of daily life. Many women find it easier to discuss a private subject in the language of home. Say so when you speak to the coordinator, and ask for the written plan, the recovery programme and the care instructions to be explained until every point is clear. Medical details should never stay half understood.
Kotokuraba Market is the largest market in Cape Coast. The triangular market was developed in the late 1930s by the colonial government, and it employs about 35% of the female employed population. For a great many women in the city, then, planning breast augmentation means planning time away from a stall, a shop counter or a family trading business.
The medical facts are clear. You may go back to work, with no physical exertion, after 7–14 days. No heavy exertion means no lifting of more than 3 kg, and for 3 weeks no lifting of arms above shoulder height. In market work that excludes carrying sacks, stacking crates, hanging goods on high hooks and hauling buckets. Decide in advance who will do these tasks: a sister, a grown child, a trusted helper. Agree it before the operation, not after.
About 25.1% of the employed population works in service jobs such as wholesale and retail, so many readers will recognise this problem. Ask the surgeon whether you can sit at a till or handle light paperwork at the start of your return, and whether your day should begin later while you are still tired. A market day with crowding and heat is better faced once swelling has settled, and swelling after surgery goes away after 3 weeks.
Cape Coast is an educational hub. The University of Cape Coast was established in 1962 as a university college and became an independent university on 1 October 1971. Cape Coast Technical University opened in 1986 and was upgraded to a tertiary institution in 1992. Add the many secondary and technical schools, and a large part of the city lives by the academic calendar: lectures, practicals, examinations, marking.
If you are a student or a lecturer, build the plan around that calendar. Avoid the weeks before examinations, when stress and short sleep do not help healing. Remember that the first weeks bring tiredness and moderate discomfort, and that discomfort is gone by weeks 2–3. Carrying a heavy bag of books is a real issue, since lifting more than 3 kg is not allowed. Ask a classmate to share notes, use a light bag, and agree with your department how you will handle lab or field sessions.
Teachers face a different question: standing for hours at a board and speaking all day. Ask the surgeon how to organise your first week back, and plan seated teaching where possible. Gym classes and sports days should be left to a colleague, because for as long as 40 days intense workouts and overly active aerobics are to be avoided.
The topography of Cape Coast is hilly, with valleys of streams between the hills and the Gulf of Guinea to the south. Dawson Hill, with Smith's Tower on top, is one of the old landmarks. Walking in a hilly town is a fair test of the body. In the first weeks choose flat, short routes, and leave steep climbs, with their effort and strain on the chest, until your surgeon approves heavier activity. Light walks are possible after 1–2 weeks.
Many residents do not own a car and rely on taxis and minibuses, and congestion is a known problem because the city lies south of the main trunk road between Accra and Takoradi. For the check-ups, which come at 7 days, 3 and 6 months, plan a calm ride. For the first one, a private car or a lift with a relative is gentler than a packed minibus. Remote consultations help here, because many questions can be settled from home without a journey across town.
The coast is close, and the pull of the beach is strong, especially during Fetu Afahye in September. Remember that pool and sea are allowed after 4–6 weeks, and strength training after 3 months. A festival day on the shore is better enjoyed in the shade, in loose clothing, as a spectator.
Fetu Afahye, the main festival of the Oguaa Traditional Area, takes place on the first Saturday of September every year and draws people of all backgrounds. PANAFEST, together with Cape Coast Castle and Kakum National Park, brings many visitors to the city. For families, these are occasions for new clothes, long days of dancing, crowds and travel between relatives.
If you want to feel comfortable in fitted clothes for a festival, count backwards. Compression garments stay on for 4–6 weeks, scars are reddish early on and fade over 6–12 months, and swelling goes away after 3 weeks. An operation only days before a celebration leaves no room to rest. A calmer solution is to have the operation well ahead, so that the first weeks of rest pass before the crowds arrive.
Dancing, carrying children and long standing in the sun are all demanding for a healing body. Give yourself permission to take part gently. Sit in the shade, drink water, and keep the compression garment clean. If something worries you, write to the coordinator at any hour, since they are available 24/7.
You write to a coordinator on Telegram or Telegram, describe your wishes and share photos and your medical history. Your time matters to us: we work 24/7, booking is easy, and our personal approach adapts to your pace. The online consultation is free, and you can ask follow-up questions without pressure.
After surgery you get a recovery programme. Check-ups at 7 days, 3 and 6 months help track your recovery. For a year after surgery, consultations with your surgeon are free. Follow-up support lasts for 12 months, so you are not left alone once the operation is over.
Questions worth asking your surgeon: which implant shape and size suit my frame, where will the incision be, how should I sleep, when can I drive, what should I do in hot weather, and which signs mean I must call at once. Write the answers down and share them with whoever will help you at home.
Yes. The online consultation is free, and coordinators are available 24/7 on Telegram and Telegram. You can start from home at any hour.
General anaesthesia is used, and the stay is 1 day or 1–2 days depending on how you feel and your surgeon's decision. Medical staff monitor you 24/7.
You will not feel anything during the operation. In the first 1–3 days there may be moderate discomfort that painkillers relieve. Pain subsides significantly by day 5–7 and discomfort is gone by weeks 2–3. If pain becomes severe, tell your doctor right away.
After 7–14 days, with no physical exertion. If your job in Cape Coast involves lifting, such as market work or hospitality, arrange lighter duties first.
The city is warm and humid, with temperatures around 24 to 32 °C. Wear breathable fabric over the compression garment, rest in a ventilated room and keep the skin clean and dry. Compression garments stay on for 4–6 weeks, or 1–1.5 months after the correction.
Pool and sea are allowed after 4–6 weeks, and fitness and swimming also start after 4–6 weeks. Timing depends on your recovery, so confirm with your surgeon.
For as long as 40 days, avoid intense gym workouts and overly active aerobics. Light cardio is possible after a month, and strength training is allowed after 3 months.
There are scars, though a skilled surgeon keeps them minimal, placing them under the breast, around the areola or in the armpit. They are reddish early on and over 6–12 months fade and become almost unnoticeable.
Yes, once your body has fully recovered. Allow at least 6–12 months after giving birth and after breastfeeding stops, with a consultation and check-up first.
About 10–15 years for augmentation, until implant replacement. Weight changes, pregnancy, skin aging and gravity affect the duration, so wear supportive underwear and control your weight.
Many households in the city have close family networks. Ask a sister, mother or friend in advance to help with meals, laundry and children, because no lifting of more than 3 kg and no lifting of arms above shoulder height for 3 weeks.
You may return to work with no physical exertion after 7–14 days. Heavy tasks such as carrying stock should be done by someone else for the first weeks. Ask your surgeon to confirm the timing for your type of work.
Choose a period away from examinations, when you can rest. Discomfort is gone by weeks 2–3 and you can usually return to a desk-based routine after 7–14 days, but a heavy book bag is not allowed at first.
Plan the date so that the early weeks of recovery are finished before the festival. Compression garments stay on for 4–6 weeks, and pool and sea are allowed after 4–6 weeks. Take part gently and rest in the shade.
