What is liposuction
and who is it for?

In liposuction, the surgeon removes excess fat lying under the skin in problem areas. It won't replace diet and exercise, and it is not a weight-loss method. Its job is targeted contouring: removing saddlebags on the thighs, a loose belly and fat on the back, flanks, arms or chin.

Liposuction is for people whose particular areas keep fat despite a normal weight and an active lifestyle. The main point: fat cells removed from treated areas don't grow back, so with a stable lifestyle the result lasts a long time.

Liposuction techniques at City Medical Centre

Tumescent (classic) liposuction

Into the treatment area goes a special saline-based solution with lidocaine, adrenaline and several other agents. It loosens fat tissue and narrows the vessels, keeping blood loss minimal and letting the fat be removed gently. The resulting emulsion is suctioned out through a thin cannula.

You get almost no swelling or bruising after surgery, and recovery is far easier than after a conventional one.

VASER liposuction (ultrasound)

Before the fat is vacuumed out, ultrasound breaks down the fat cells. This method is perfect for pronounced muscle definition — athletic abs — and body contouring.

It also suits delicate areas.

How the surgery goes: from consultation to result

Surgeon consultation

Your doctor listens to what you want, examines you, assesses fat deposits and rules out contraindications. City Medical Centre also orders a hormonal screening — it helps predict the long-term result.

Pre-operative tests

Tests include blood work (complete count, coagulation panel, biochemistry, infections: HIV, hepatitis, syphilis), ECG and chest X-ray, with a GP consultation if needed.

All tests can be done at the clinic with no waiting.

Preparation

2 weeks before, stop medications that affect blood clotting. A week before, stop alcohol and smoking for faster healing. 8 hours before, the last meal.

Surgery day

You meet the surgeon, the areas are marked and compression garments are fitted. Anesthesia is local or general, depending on the scope.
Lasts from 1 hour (small areas) to 3–4 hours (a combined procedure).

Waking up and monitoring

With general anesthesia — one day in hospital under observation. With local anesthesia — discharge 3–4 hours after surgery.

Recovery

Compression garments for 30–45 days; first results in 3–4 weeks as the swelling subsides; the final result assessed at 3 months, when the skin has tightened fully.

Recovery after liposuction

After tumescent liposuction, recovery is much shorter than after a conventional procedure. Most patients return to work within 3–7 days. In the first week, mild swelling and a raised temperature are possible — a normal response to surgery. Compression garments are worn for 30–45 days: they fix the new contours and speed up tissue recovery. In the first month, bathhouse, sauna, pool and intense sport are off-limits. For the best result and faster recovery we recommend lymphatic drainage massage, pressotherapy and a gradual return to activity. First visible changes appear in 3–4 weeks, the final result at 3 months.

Liposuction: frequently asked questions

Liposuction in Erode: a short guide

The aim is not a smaller number on the scales but a better shape. Liposuction targets saddlebags, back rolls, a belly that will not flatten and fat on the arms, chin or knees. For patients from Erode, the result depends on one key fact: removed fat cells do not return, while the remaining ones can still grow with weight gain, so a balanced diet keeps the contour for the long term.

Follow-up does not end at discharge. The surgeon stays in touch throughout recovery, and planned check-ups take place at 7 days and at 3 months. Until the end of the year, a post-op follow-up consultation with the surgeon is at the clinic's expense, to review the result and answer questions. Patients from Erode also get advice on returning gradually to activity.

The cost is built around your zones: from $1,200 for the most compact area, rising for larger combinations such as the torso or the abdomen with flanks. Nothing is added later, because the contract fixes the price. Erode residents can split payment into interest-free instalments and begin with a free surgeon consultation, booked through the form on the page.
