What to expect
A correction plan agreed with you, inpatient observation and a year of follow-up.
1After assessing your figure and discussing your wishes, the surgeon chooses the best volume, shape and correction method.
2A surgery date is booked in your name: pay the deposit by card at the clinic or by online bank transfer. The terms are recorded in the contract for medical services
3Before the operation you take a full set of tests: blood tests, an ECG and any other examinations the doctor prescribes.
4Your surgeon carries out the mammoplasty following your personal plan, under general anesthesia and with constant monitoring of your condition.
5Once the operation is over, you stay in the clinic's comfortable ward under the medical team's supervision until discharge.
6You get a personal recovery programme after the operation. Follow-up visits at 7 days, 3 and 6 months monitor healing; for a year, surgeon consultations are free of charge.

Stop using drugs with aspirin, steroids and hormonal medications prescribed for chronic conditions before surgery
At least one month before the procedure, oral hormonal contraceptives should be stopped
Take your tests a week before surgery
Prepare for surgery with a few simple steps: a healthy balance of work and rest, more sleep, no stress, anxiety or strong emotions, and reduced physical activity.
Avoid intense gym workouts for up to 40 days and overly active aerobics; after a month light cardio is possible. Watch your diet and meals.
Post-op swelling disappears after 3 weeks
Discomfort fades after 3 months
Within 3 weeks, scars form
No heavy exertion (lifting more than 3 kg)
By 3 months, inflammatory changes in the tissue have resolved and a “pocket” has formed around the implant
After the correction, recovery involves 1–1.5 months of compression garments
No raising arms above shoulder level — 3 weeks
For as long as three months, no baths, saunas or physiotherapy

FAQ
The term mammoplasty covers several operations: augmentation (implants to increase volume), reduction (excess tissue and skin removed), mastopexy (a lift for sagging), reconstruction (after mastectomy) and correction of asymmetry. Which method is best is decided individually, from your wishes and the surgeon's advice.
Message us — our coordinator will get back to you shortly and book your consultation. The plastic surgeon consultation is free.
Complications are rare when recommendations are fully followed, yet they can include hematoma or seroma, wound infection, reduced or increased nipple sensitivity, capsular contracture, aesthetic asymmetry, separation of the wound and tissue necrosis.
A mammoplasty result lasts a long time, about 10–15 years after augmentation (until implants need replacing) and 5–10 years after a lift or reduction. Its longevity is affected by weight, pregnancy, skin aging and gravity. Supportive underwear and weight control help preserve it.
After mammoplasty, breastfeeding depends on the type of surgery. If augmentation uses an under-breast or armpit incision and the implant goes under the muscle, lactation is typically preserved because glandular tissue is not damaged. A lift or reduction has a higher risk since ducts may be cut. Discuss it with your surgeon before surgery.
When choosing implants, the factors are material (silicone looks most natural, saline is used less often), shape (round or anatomical teardrop), surface (smooth or textured), size and profile. The surgeon will find the best option for your anatomy and preferences.
The operation is done under general anesthesia, so the patient feels nothing. Over the first 1–3 days moderate discomfort may occur and is eased with painkillers. By day 5–7 pain drops noticeably, and by weeks 2–3 the discomfort has gone. If the pain is severe, let your doctor know at once.
Returning to work without physical exertion is possible after 7–14 days, and light walks after 1–2 weeks. Fitness and swimming are allowed after 4–6 weeks, strength training after 3 months, and the pool and sea after 4–6 weeks. Compression garments: 4–6 weeks. Exact timing depends on recovery.
No scientific evidence shows that mammoplasty raises the risk of breast cancer, and implants do not cause cancer. After surgery, continue regular screening with self-exams, mammography and ultrasound, and always tell the examining doctor that you have implants.
Mammoplasty after a C-section is an option, though the body should recover fully beforehand. Wait at least 6–12 months after delivery and after you finish breastfeeding. You will need a surgeon's consultation and check-up before surgery.
Mammoplasty does leave scars, but in the hands of a skilled surgeon they are minimal. Incisions are placed in hidden areas: under the breast, around the areola or in the armpit. Scars look reddish in the first months, yet within 6–12 months they fade and become nearly invisible.
Slight asymmetry in the first weeks after surgery is normal: it is caused by swelling and uneven healing. If a difference in shape or size persists after 3–6 months, see your surgeon for an examination to find the cause.
Mammoplasty may temporarily alter the sensitivity of the nipples and breasts, making it lower or higher. This is caused by irritated nerve endings. In most cases it recovers within 3–12 months. If you see no improvement after a year, contact your surgeon.
Hormonal drugs such as contraceptives and hormone replacement therapy do not influence implants directly. They may, however, cause swelling or breast tissue volume changes that temporarily affect how the breasts look. Inform your surgeon of these medications before surgery.

Augmentation mammoplasty is an elective aesthetic operation carried out under general anesthesia. It is chosen by women in Khoms who want more volume or a corrected contour. Anatomical precision matters here: the plastic surgeon marks the new breast position, plans the access around your anatomy and fits an implant that respects your proportions, keeping the look natural rather than artificial.
The journey begins with an initial consultation: the doctor examines and palpates the breasts to rule out lumps and discusses expectations with you. Patients from Khoms then complete a pre-op work-up — blood tests, coagulation panel, infection screening, ECG, chest X-ray and breast ultrasound. The surgery lasts 1.5 to 3 hours under general anesthesia, followed by one day of inpatient observation.
For patients from Khoms, City Medical Centre offers breast augmentation at a fixed all-inclusive price from $4,700 (≈ LYD 30,500). Included are the consultation with result modelling, combined inhalation anesthesia, a comfortable room after surgery, meals, constant staff monitoring and a year of dressings and check-ups. Implant removal is $3,300 (≈ LYD 21,500). Getting started is simple: request a free consultation online.

I went to Dmitry Sergeyevich for breast augmentation with implants. At the consultation everything was explained in detail, and together we chose the best size. The operation under combined anaesthesia took 2 hours, and I was discharged home the next day. The swelling went down in about a month, and my breasts look very natural. The year of follow-up care is a real lifesaver: you can always ask a question and get an answer. Thank you to the clinic!

Al-Khums counts 390,943 inhabitants on its 2018 figures, and some of the women among them have carried the same question for years without asking anyone. Remote consultation lets you ask it on your own terms, with no waiting room and no one watching who walks in. Begin with a few quiet minutes of your own. Decide what you actually want: a modest increase in volume, more balance between the two sides, or the fullness you lost after nursing or weight loss. A clear goal saves half the journey ahead.
Then decide who knows. Perhaps your husband, a sister or one trusted friend; perhaps nobody until the picture is clearer. Nothing obliges you either way. Your exchange runs on Telegram or Telegram with coordinators who answer at any hour, and it sits on your phone alone. If you later want someone to read along, bring that person into the same thread rather than forwarding copies, because a single conversation keeps every question and answer in order and prevents confusion.
The photographs are simple and taken at home: standing relaxed, from the front, both sides and a three-quarter angle, in daylight by a window, wearing plain supportive underwear with no padding or lift. Add two tape measurements, one under the bust and one at the fullest point, using a soft tape, together with your current weight and height and any large weight change in recent years. These let the surgeon relate possible volume to your frame and shoulders instead of picking a number from the air.
Write your health background honestly: medicines, earlier operations, anyone in the family who reacted badly to anaesthesia, whether you have breastfed, and whether the breasts changed afterwards. The first reply gives a provisional view of whether the procedure suits your case and what your file still lacks, and it commits you to nothing. If the team asks for another picture or a specific detail, that is part of getting the full picture, not complication. Answer with what you know and skip the polishing.
The columns of the Severan Basilica at Leptis Magna stand in balanced rows, and they impressed visitors because the builders calculated proportion before ornament. A breast plan follows the same logic. Chest width, rib height, shoulder width and the distance between the breasts determine a suitable size far more than a photo seen elsewhere. Ask the surgeon why this size fits your frame, and what would start to look excessive if you went larger.
Some difference between the two breasts is common, and often so slight that nobody but you notices. Ask: is there asymmetry in my case? Will the implant alone deal with it, or may the pocket or the size need adjusting? How will they look standing and lying down? A frank reply to those questions is worth more than a promise of perfect symmetry, because an honest surgeon explains what is achievable and where the limits lie, in language you follow.
Next come questions about the implant itself: its type, shape and position, where the pocket sits in relation to the chest muscle, where the incision goes and what mark it leaves. You do not need to memorise terms. Ask for a diagram, an illustration or an example close to your own case, and put the same query to two surgeons: what would you choose, and why that and not another? Someone who explains clearly deserves a hearing, and if he hides behind jargon, ask him to simplify.
Think about your life three years from now rather than about next month's occasion. Do you plan a pregnancy or more breastfeeding? Do you exercise in ways that use the arms heavily? Does your weight swing between seasons? None of this lowers the value of your decision, yet all of it feeds the plan, and each answer helps the surgeon choose better. It is also fine to say you have not decided yet; admitted doubt is more honest than borrowed certainty.
The operation is carried out under general anaesthesia given by an anaesthetist, and afterwards you stay in hospital for one day. Before that day ask how long you must fast, which medicines are stopped, and about every supplement or herbal product you take, since some interfere with anaesthesia or bleeding. Write names and doses on a single sheet and hand it to the team. The last evening is a poor time to be trying to remember what you forgot.
Pack a simple bag: clothes that open at the front or zip, so you never lift your arms above shoulder level to change, a comfortable nightdress, tissues, a phone charger and perhaps a light book. Choose a companion, a mother, sister or husband, who can be close when you wake and listen to the discharge instructions with a second pair of ears. Those instructions are given while you are still groggy from the anaesthetic, which is exactly why an extra listener helps.
The port at Al-Khums, with its nine quays, accepts no ship without a schedule, and your day should have one too: arrival time, who meets you, the approximate time of surgery, when you first get out of bed, when you may eat and drink, and when the surgeon comes by. Request it in writing two days ahead and pin a copy at home so the family knows what to expect. Anyone who knows the plan in advance worries less and fusses less.
At home your bed should be ready with pillows raising the upper body a little, and water, medicines and phone within reach. Keep everything you need at waist height, not above the shoulder and not on the floor, because in the early weeks you will not be raising your arms or bending much. Share cooking, laundry and child care among relatives before the day, and tell them you need about two quiet weeks and that large social visits can wait.
You can return to work, without physical exertion, after seven to fourteen days. If you are a teacher, an office worker or anyone seated at a desk that date is close; if your job involves carrying or raising your arms, ask the surgeon for a date of your own. Arrange a gradual return if possible, and tell one colleague only, to cover tasks that need the arm lifted. Since the Libyan weekend is Friday and Saturday, start your leave just before it for two extra days of rest.
By about three weeks most of the swelling after surgery has gone and the scars are forming, but strict limits remain: nothing heavier than three kilograms and no raising of the arms above shoulder level. Three kilograms is less than you might expect, a full shopping bag, a toddler on the hip or a large pot off the stove. Stay alert in the kitchen and the market, and ask for help without embarrassment. Anyone who lifts too much undoes part of what the surgeon built.
At one month the swelling subsides and the breasts take on their natural shape and softness. Between four and six weeks you return step by step to fitness, swimming in the pool and the sea, while the compression garment is worn for four to six weeks. August in Al-Khums is the hottest month, 32.0 degrees by day and 22.9 at night, so if recovery falls in summer wear cotton beneath the garment, change it as the team advises, and treat the sun carefully until the surgeon permits Barku or Tuwaybiyah beach.
At three months discomfort fades, inflammatory changes settle and a pocket forms around the implant, so strength training can resume if your surgeon agrees. Winter is gentle here, with January averaging 17.9 degrees by day and 9.3 at night, and February 18.7 and 9.4, which suits quiet rest and easy walks around the neighbourhood. Photograph yourself every two weeks in the same pose and light; that series becomes your honest diary and makes each check-up clearer and shorter.
Leptis Magna, founded by the Phoenicians and flourishing under Septimius Severus between 193 and 211, is a reminder that anything big needs planning before building. Ask each provider for a written plan that names the type and size of implant, the pocket position, the incision, the anaesthesia, the stay and the follow-up arrangements. Then lay the plans next to one another and compare lines, not pleasant phrases. Fine words are available to everyone, but written detail comes only from someone who studied your file.
A surgeon's documents are inspected before you relax: his full name, his exact specialty in breast and cosmetic surgery, documented experience with this very operation, a licence number that can be verified, and dated result photographs showing cases some months after surgery. If pictures come without dates, ask when they were taken. Keep a copy of every document in a single folder, for you may want it again at any follow-up.
Ask about the time after the operation before you ask about the day itself. How many check-ups, and at what intervals? Who answers if you write after two or three weeks? What happens if an adjustment is needed? How will the result be tracked through photographs? These questions separate two offers that look alike, and the answers show how long each side stays interested once the work is done. Someone who dodges before you commit will dodge more afterwards.
The Severan Basilica remains standing with its quays and its square because its builders began from sound ground. Your decision deserves the same footing: documented information, a plan on paper, a surgeon who describes the limits of your anatomy honestly, and then time at home in Al-Khums without rush. If the plan fits your body, your household and your priorities, go forward calmly. If not, keep looking, since a decision made at ease lasts, while one made in haste sends you back to the first question.
Photograph yourself standing from the front and both sides in daylight, then send your bust measurements, weight, height and a short health history. The surgeon reads the file and returns a first view of the volume that could suit your frame and whether the procedure fits your case, with no appointment and no wait. Everything you send stays in your own conversation.
It is general anaesthesia administered by the anaesthetist, and you remain in hospital for one day afterwards. Ask about fasting, about medicines and supplements to stop, and bring a companion who can hear the discharge instructions with you, since a second listener is useful when you have just come out of anaesthesia.
After seven to fourteen days if the job involves no physical exertion. If it needs heavy carrying or raising your arms, ask the surgeon for a personal date and write it into the plan. With a Friday and Saturday weekend, starting your leave just before it gives two more days of rest.
No lifting over three kilograms and no raising of the arms above shoulder level for roughly the first three weeks, with a compression garment worn for four to six weeks. That includes a shopping bag, a child and large cooking pots, so ask for help freely during this period.
Between four and six weeks, with the surgeon's permission. The beaches at Barku and Tuwaybiyah will wait. In hot months go out at dawn or late afternoon, shield the skin from direct sun and wear the garment as the team recommends.
At around three months, once discomfort has gone, inflammatory changes have settled and a pocket has formed around the implant, and only with your surgeon's agreement. Before that, easy walking and normal daily movement without heavy lifting are fine. Tell the team which sport you do so the answer can be specific.
Ask for his full name, exact specialty in breast surgery, documented experience, a licence number that can be verified and dated result photos from earlier patients some months after surgery. Then ask about follow-up and adjustments. A clear, patient answer is a better sign than any exaggerated promise.
If pain exceeds the prescribed relief, swelling increases in one breast but not the other, fever develops, redness spreads, there is an unusual discharge from the wound or breathing becomes difficult. Do not wait for morning. The Telegram or Telegram line is open at any hour, so attach a clear photo and say when the sign began.
