What is liposuction
and who is it for?

Liposuction is an operation to remove excess subcutaneous fat from problem zones, not a way to slim down or to skip diet and exercise. It is aimed at targeted contouring — removing saddlebags on the thighs, a sagging tummy and fat deposits on the back, flanks, arms or chin.

If certain areas hold fat while your weight is normal and your lifestyle active, liposuction is for you. Fat cells removed from treated areas do not come back, which means that with a stable lifestyle the result lasts a long time.

Liposuction techniques at City Medical Centre

Tumescent (classic) liposuction

Step one is injecting a special solution — saline with lidocaine, adrenaline and several other agents — into the treatment area. It loosens the fat and tightens the vessels, keeping blood loss minimal and removal gentle. Then the fat emulsion is removed through a thin cannula using vacuum.

Swelling and bruising after surgery are almost absent, and recovering is much easier than with a conventional procedure.

VASER liposuction (ultrasound)

Before vacuum removal, fat cells are broken down by ultrasound. The method is ideal for defining pronounced muscle relief — athletic abs — and body contouring.

It also suits delicate areas.

How the surgery goes: from consultation to result

Surgeon consultation

The doctor listens to your wishes, examines you and assesses the fat deposits, ruling out contraindications. City Medical Centre also prescribes a hormonal screening, useful for predicting the long-term result.

Pre-operative tests

ECG, chest X-ray, blood tests (complete count, coagulation panel, biochemistry, HIV, hepatitis and syphilis) and, where needed, a GP consultation.

All tests can be done at the clinic with no waiting.

Preparation

Medicines that affect blood clotting — stop them 2 weeks before. Alcohol and smoking — stop a week before so you heal faster. The last meal — 8 hours before.

Surgery day

On the day you meet the surgeon, the areas are marked and compression garments fitted. Anesthesia — local or general, depending on the scope.
Duration: from 1 hour (small areas) to 3–4 hours (combined procedure).

Waking up and monitoring

After general anesthesia — one day under observation in hospital. After local anesthesia — home 3–4 hours after surgery.

Recovery

Compression garments are worn for 30–45 days. First results show in 3–4 weeks as swelling goes down. The final result is assessed at 3 months, once the skin has fully tightened.

Recovery after liposuction

Compared with a conventional procedure, recovery after tumescent liposuction is much shorter: most patients go back to work within 3–7 days. Mild swelling and a raised temperature in the first week are possible and normal after surgery. Compression garments, worn for 30–45 days, fix the new contours and speed tissue recovery. The bathhouse, sauna, pool and intense sport are off-limits for the first month. Lymphatic drainage massage, pressotherapy and a gradual return to activity help achieve the best result and faster recovery. First changes are visible in 3–4 weeks; the final result comes at 3 months.

Liposuction: frequently asked questions

Everything about body contouring in Rohini

Which zones can be treated? The abdomen and flanks are the most requested, for women and men alike. Thighs (outer and inner), back and lower back, arms and shoulders, chin and neck, knees and the male chest are also corrected. Several areas can be done in one operation, saving recovery time and budget, which is why patients from Rohini rarely limit themselves to a single zone.

Here is the route in brief. Consultation and hormonal screening. Blood tests, ECG and chest X-ray at the clinic. Two weeks of preparation. Marking and compression garments on the day, then surgery under local or general anaesthesia. Observation, discharge, 30–45 days in compression and check-ups at 7 days and 3 months. Patients in Rohini follow this same sequence.

Liposuction in Rohini costs from $1,200. The exact amount depends on which areas you want to correct — abdomen, flanks, thighs, back, arms, chin or knees — and on whether they are combined in one operation. The surgeon calculates it individually after the examination. The first consultation is free, and a coordinator will book it once you leave a request.
