What is liposuction
and who is it for?

Surgical removal of excess subcutaneous fat from problem areas is what liposuction offers. It is no weight-loss method and no substitute for diet or exercise; its aim is targeted contouring, removing saddlebags on the thighs, a sagging belly and deposits on the back, flanks, arms or chin.

It is suited to people whose specific zones retain fat in spite of normal weight and regular activity. What matters most: the fat cells removed do not grow back in treated areas, so a stable lifestyle keeps the result for years.

Liposuction techniques at City Medical Centre

Tumescent (classic) liposuction

A special solution based on saline, with lidocaine, adrenaline and some other agents, is injected into the area first. It softens the fat tissue and constricts vessels, minimising blood loss and making removal gentle. After that, a thin cannula removes the fat emulsion by vacuum.

Swelling and bruising after surgery are almost absent, and recovering is much easier than with a conventional procedure.

VASER liposuction (ultrasound)

Before vacuum removal, ultrasound breaks the fat cells down. This makes the method ideal for body contouring and for defining pronounced muscle relief, i.e. athletic abs.

It also suits delicate areas.

How the surgery goes: from consultation to result

Surgeon consultation

The doctor hears your wishes, examines and assesses the fat deposits and rules out contraindications. At City Medical Centre a hormonal screening is also ordered, which helps predict the long-term result.

Pre-operative tests

A chest X-ray, ECG and blood tests (complete count, coagulation panel, biochemistry, infections — HIV, hepatitis, syphilis), plus a GP consultation if needed.

All tests can be done at the clinic with no waiting.

Preparation

Medicines that affect blood clotting — stop them 2 weeks before. Alcohol and smoking — stop a week before so you heal faster. The last meal — 8 hours before.

Surgery day

Areas are marked, compression garments fitted and you meet the surgeon. Whether anesthesia is local or general depends on the scope.
Lasts from 1 hour (small areas) to 3–4 hours (a combined procedure).

Waking up and monitoring

With general anesthesia — one day in hospital under observation. With local anesthesia — discharge 3–4 hours after surgery.

Recovery

Compression garments stay on for 30–45 days. Once swelling subsides, first results are visible in 3–4 weeks. At 3 months, with the skin fully tightened, the final result is assessed.

Recovery after liposuction

After tumescent liposuction, recovery is much shorter than after a conventional procedure. Most patients return to work within 3–7 days. In the first week, mild swelling and a raised temperature are possible — a normal response to surgery. Compression garments are worn for 30–45 days: they fix the new contours and speed up tissue recovery. In the first month, bathhouse, sauna, pool and intense sport are off-limits. For the best result and faster recovery we recommend lymphatic drainage massage, pressotherapy and a gradual return to activity. First visible changes appear in 3–4 weeks, the final result at 3 months.

Liposuction: frequently asked questions

How liposuction works for Jodhpur residents

The operation is performed for adults aged 18 and over with no contraindications, and there is no upper age limit: the decision is made individually after an examination. Contraindications include endocrine obesity, decompensated diabetes, blood clotting disorders, cancer, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Anyone from Jodhpur with a chronic condition should discuss it with a clinic doctor first.

It starts with a surgeon consultation: the doctor listens to your wishes, assesses the fat deposits and rules out contraindications, and a hormonal screening is ordered to predict the long-term result. Patients from Jodhpur then take pre-operative tests — blood count, coagulation panel, biochemistry, infection screening, ECG and chest X-ray — which can all be done at the clinic with no waiting.

Liposuction starts from $1,200 for a single area, and the final figure is calculated individually after an examination. For patients from Jodhpur, the price is fixed in the contract with no hidden extras, and interest-free instalments are available. The first consultation with the surgeon is free: leave your name and phone number, and a coordinator will contact you to book it.
