What is arthritis
and when does this treatment fit?

An inflamed joint is the core of arthritis. Look for pain at night or when resting, stiffness in the morning for longer than half an hour, swelling, and a joint that is red and warm. The cause can be autoimmune (rheumatoid or psoriatic arthritis), gout, infection or a long-past injury.

While PRP and SVF can lower inflammation and pain and help the joint's inner tissues, a systemic disease still needs a rheumatologist — these injections do not take their place. They are never given during an active joint infection or a strong flare; the doctor first establishes the type of arthritis and times the procedure.

Joints we treat

Large and small joints are treated, with the doctor choosing the joint, method and number of injections based on your scans

Methods we use

Cell therapy (SVF) from your own adipose tissue

The stromal vascular fraction (SVF) — a blend of cells involved in repairing tissue — is isolated by processing a small sample of your adipose tissue. Mixed with your own plasma, it goes into the affected joint by injection.

In inflammatory arthritis, after the acute flare has passed, it is chosen for how it acts on local inflammation and tissue repair.

PRP — platelet-rich plasma from your own blood

Injected into the joint, plasma rich in platelets and growth factors — separated from a small amount of your blood — helps calm inflammation and makes conditions for tissue repair better.

For rheumatoid and other forms of inflammatory arthritis it may be suggested as one component of the overall plan of treatment.

How the procedure goes: step by step

Consultation and scan review

The doctor checks the joint, goes through your X-rays, MRI or ultrasound and decides if the procedure suits you. If you have scans already, feel free to send them before you come.

Blood sample for PRP

Only a small amount of venous blood is taken; it is later used to prepare platelet-rich plasma with growth factors.

The doctor tells you in advance which tests are needed.

Adipose tissue sample

The doctor numbs the area with local anaesthetic and takes about 30 ml of adipose tissue through a puncture on the abdomen or inner thigh; stitches are not needed.

Processing in a centrifuge

Centrifuging the sample separates it into layers, after which the stromal vascular fraction is isolated and mixed into the platelet-rich plasma.
The whole procedure is done in one day.

Injection into the joint

Under ultrasound guidance, which helps with precise placement, the prepared material is injected straight into the affected joint.

Follow-up

You go without crutches or a hospital stay, while the doctor keeps in touch after the procedure and follows the joint's response.

Follow-up visits

After 1 month
3 months
6 months

Pain usually eases over the first month, mobility improves over about three months and the full effect develops over around six months; follow-up visits let the doctor see the joint's response and adjust the plan.

After the procedure

Most patients return home the same day and to normal activity within a day or two; small dressings are put over the puncture sites. The first week may bring slightly more aching in the joint, which is an expected reaction. During the first month the pain tends to ease, during about three months mobility and activity improve, and over around six months the full effect develops. How long it lasts depends on the person — the stage of the condition, body weight, activity and other factors — so a fixed result cannot be promised by anyone. Do not stop medication prescribed by your rheumatologist without talking to them first.

Joint treatment: frequently asked questions

About arthritis treatment for patients from Meerut

We work with inflammatory joint conditions of the knee, hand and wrist, shoulder, elbow, hip and ankle. Patients from Meerut can send their test results and scans for a free review.

An arthritic joint hurts even at rest because inflammation keeps stimulating pain receptors. For patients from Meerut, treatment aimed at reducing that inflammation can ease pain at rest and at night.

How much does arthritis treatment cost in Meerut? The doctor names the price after confirming the type of arthritis and choosing PRP, SVF or a combination. Send a request or message us in any messenger.
