Arthrosis, or osteoarthritis, is chronic: the cartilage inside the joint gets thinner and gradually disappears. Without this shock-absorbing layer the bones rub together, and pain, stiffness and a narrower range of motion follow. The process is degenerative; inflammation is not its cause, although swollen flare-ups are possible.
It most often affects the joints that carry the most load — the knee (gonarthrosis) and the hip (coxarthrosis), as well as the ankle and the small joints of the hand. Treatment works best at early and moderate stages, before the joint surfaces are badly damaged; at an advanced stage the doctor will tell you honestly if joint replacement is the more realistic option.

No surgery — an injection instead of an operation

Ultrasound guidance for every injection

Free consultation and review of your scans
Treatment for both large and small joints — your scans guide the doctor's choice of joint, method and number of injections
Elbow
Overuse or sports strain causing pain; worn joint surfaces
Hand and wrist joints
Pain with stiffness in the small joints of fingers and wrist
Knee
Stairs and walking cause pain; cartilage wear and meniscus problems
Hip
Early hip osteoarthritis, groin pain, limited rotation
Ankle
Pain and stiffness after sprains and old injuries
Shoulder
Joint and tendon wear around it, pain on lifting the arm

Cell therapy (SVF) from your own adipose tissue
A small sample of your adipose tissue is processed to isolate the stromal vascular fraction (SVF) — a mix of cells involved in tissue repair. Combined with your own plasma, it is injected into the affected joint.
At early and moderate stages of osteoarthritis it is used mainly to reduce friction between the joint surfaces and slow cartilage wear.

PRP — platelet-rich plasma from your own blood
Plasma rich in platelets and growth factors is obtained from a small volume of your blood and injected into the joint, where it helps calm inflammation and improves conditions for tissue repair.
Commonly used for mild osteoarthritis — and together with SVF when you need a stronger effect.

Consultation and scan review
The doctor checks the joint, studies your X-rays, MRI or ultrasound and decides if this procedure fits your case. If scans are already done, send them before the visit.

Blood sample for PRP
Blood in a small amount is drawn from a vein, and later platelet-rich plasma rich in growth factors is prepared from it.
The doctor tells you in advance which tests are needed.

Adipose tissue sample
Under local anaesthetic, a small portion of adipose tissue (about 30 ml) is taken through a puncture on the abdomen or inner thigh. No stitches are needed.

Processing in a centrifuge
Centrifugation separates the sample into layers, and the stromal vascular fraction is isolated, then combined with platelet-rich plasma.
The whole procedure is done in one day.

Injection into the joint
The prepared material goes straight into the affected joint; ultrasound guidance helps position it precisely.

Follow-up
You go without crutches and without a hospital stay; the doctor keeps in touch afterwards and follows the joint's response.

Follow-up visits
At follow-up visits the doctor checks how the joint is responding and adjusts the plan. Pain usually eases during the first month, mobility improves over about three months, and the full effect develops over around six months.
Your scans are reviewed and you are examined — then a doctor decides whether the treatment suits you

Most people go home on the same day and are back to their usual daily activity within a day or two, with small dressings over the puncture sites. The joint may ache a little more during the first week — an expected reaction. Pain usually eases over the first month, mobility and activity improve over about three months, and the full effect develops over around six months. How long it lasts varies between people and depends on the stage of the condition, body weight, activity and other factors — nobody can promise a fixed result. A healthy weight and regular, joint-friendly exercise help the result last longer.
Your own joint is kept, not replaced — we treat without surgery

Your own tissue
The treatment relies solely on your own blood and adipose tissue — no donor or synthetic material

No crutches
Done through punctures under local anaesthetic, without incisions or long rehabilitation

Second opinion
Send X-rays, MRI or reports and receive a doctor's independent assessment for free

Support after the procedure
We remain in touch after the procedure and track the outcome, not merely on the injection day
The cost depends on the joint, the stage of osteoarthritis and the method, so the doctor names it after the consultation

What is osteoarthritis in simple terms?
The cartilage that covers the bone ends in a joint slowly wears away. Once it thins, cushioning is lost, bone rubs on bone and pain, stiffness and crunching appear. This is a degenerative condition, not an inflammatory one.
Can hip osteoarthritis be treated without surgery?
Many patients can, if treatment is not delayed. The aim of SVF and PRP injections is to ease pain and support the cartilage without an operation, and joint replacement is the last option — for a joint already destroyed.
How soon will I notice a result?
First changes usually appear 2–3 weeks after the procedure for many patients. It takes about six months for a stable result to form, and it may last from several months to several years, individually. As a chronic condition, osteoarthritis needs a continuing plan instead of a single injection.
At which stage does the treatment work best?
Early and moderate stages are the target. Milder stages usually give a quicker and longer-lasting effect and may lower the need for regular hyaluronic acid injections. When the joint space has almost disappeared, at the most advanced stage, no lasting effect can be expected.
Which joints are most often affected?
Heavily loaded joints — the knees, hips and ankles — together with the spine and small hand joints. All of them can be treated with regenerative treatment.
What happens if osteoarthritis is left untreated?
It tends to progress: pain becomes constant, movement more restricted, the joint may deform and walking may become hard. Early diagnosis, weight control, exercise and working with a doctor really make a difference.
Which tests and scans are needed?
Diagnosis relies mainly on an X-ray, which shows the stage. MRI adds a detailed view of the cartilage and soft tissues, ultrasound picks up inflammation and fluid in the joint, and blood tests help exclude inflammatory conditions. Any results you have can be reviewed by the doctor free of charge.
How is osteoarthritis different from arthritis?
Osteoarthritis is about cartilage wear: pain that aches on movement, crunching, stiffness after rest. Arthritis is about inflammation: pain at rest and at night, swelling, redness and warmth over the joint. Because treatment is different, the diagnosis comes first.
Can I get a consultation about my case?
Yes. After you send X-rays, MRI or test results, a doctor reviews them free of charge, gauges the stage of osteoarthritis and proposes a non-surgical plan if it suits your case.
Can I exercise with osteoarthritis?
You can and should. Appropriate activity strengthens the supporting muscles that unload the joint, improves cartilage nutrition and keeps mobility. Good options: swimming, water aerobics, cycling, Nordic walking, yoga. Avoid: running on hard surfaces, jumping, heavy lifting, sudden movements.
Without treatment, osteoarthritis usually progresses: pain becomes constant, movement becomes limited and the joint may deform. Early diagnosis, weight control, exercise and working with a doctor make a real difference for every patient in Mumbai.
PRP is often used for mild osteoarthritis, and SVF with PRP when a stronger effect is needed. The method and the number of injections are chosen for each patient in Mumbai after the examination.
Do not wait until the joint is destroyed. Book a free consultation in Mumbai: early and moderate osteoarthritis responds best to treatment. The price is set individually.
